Sorry been working, for the first time in a month :D
Johns already answered your question regarding the planet. The other pluses are minimal servicing, no trips to servos and electricity is way, way cheaper than petrol. So the news is all good :)

Only if you deny, the vast majority of scientific data. Its like backing the
I wouldn't call the vast majority of scientific evidence shaky, but nevertheless you only have to sit and think about what we humans throw into the atmosphere on a global scale 24/7, and have been doing so for well over a hundred years!!
You can't see the cities in most Asian capitals, surely anything to clean up these places is a plus whether you believe in climate change or not.
Plastics are going to be the big issue I reckon!

I'm all for cleaning up pollution, especially plastic in the oceans. If you "believe" in climate change, that's religion, not science. If you massage the data ("homogenising", the BOM calls it), that's not science, that's fraud. Climate science is group-think on a global scale. Any dissent is swiftly throttled - look what happened at JCU. People are all too willing to question the data from a drug trial, if the trial is funded by the drug company - and so they should. But nobody questions the latest 100+ papers published in no-name journals supporting global warming, even though those very papers are funded by grants from governments and NGO's virtue signalling to "do something about the climate catastrophe". It's a big rort, and everyone's got their snouts in the trough.

Yes....but a model S plaid has over 1000hp! That's worth having with or without climate change. Imagine if someone told you 10 years ago that a mass produced car will have over 1000hp at 1/3 the price of a Ferrari!

Fair enough, everyone can believe what they want. For me after everyone for the past 2 years has been saying to believe the science, that's what I'll do. Majority rules and if 90+% of experts in their field so its so, well I'm with them.

Except that’s NOT what a huge chunk of suburbia are driving - look at any school dropoff and it’s full of so-called SUVs which never go further than school and supermarket- many of these (the MB, Audi, BMW, Rangies which make up a big chunk these days) would easily cost more than a Tesla 3 which starts around $65k.
Plus, prices will come down quickly once the range expands and takeup increases. I never understood why Fiat didn’t bring the Fiat 500E into Aus - would have taken over the cities if the price was acceptable.

After 20 years of relentless climate propaganda described as science, it's no surprise that "Majority rules".

How many cool summers, cold winters, record snowfalls, record sea ice, reducing hurricanes, etc, etc will it take for the majority to question the "experts"?

Except that sensible people never swallowed the ‘degrees change ‘ hysteria and just realised that extreme pollution (which is what’s actually the problem) would cause all kinds of unquantifiable disasters - which is exactly what’s happened...

So you don’t even know what climate change/global warming is?
It produces extreme weather patterns. Not just warm weather!!
Look I’m not one to force my opinion on people and I’ve been on here long enough to know the popular opinion. But mine is different.
Time will tell if I’m wrong!!

I obviously don't even know what climate change us. Doh!

Extreme weather? Have you heard of the Federation Drought? The US Dust Bowl? People skating on the Thames 60 years ago?

We are in an inter-glacial period since roughly 10,000 years ago. Average winter night-time temperatures have been increasing since the last ice age and will continue to do so until we enter the next cooling cycle. It could be 1000 years away, it could be starting already. Geological timeframes aren't a good fit with human lifetimes.

I don't care what people choose to believe either, but I get very angry at the amount of money being thrown at wind and solar farms, which enriches merchant banks and Chinese manufacturers, but cannot possibly reduce the rate of warming.

Here's the problem, Kim: They say the science is in - the science is never in. A scientific theory should always be held up for examination, testing, and tearing down if necessary. If some evidence supports the theory, well and good, but the theory should still be continually tested. If some evidence contradicts the theory, then this should be taken into account, and the theory re-tested with this new information. But contradictory evidence should not be shouted down. If you design a model from the theory (one way of testing), and new evidence doesn't fit the model, you modify the theory. What these bozos have been doing is modifying the model. The "I" in IPCC is not "International", it's "Intergovernmental" - it's a political organisation. And even if the doomsayers' worst predictions are true, there's no point in Australia killing its economy while China and India do nothing.

Sorry Ian just your previous comment suggested everything was getting colder.
No doubt we are in a warming cycle but if you look at the evidence collected the warming has risen steeply in the last 50-100 years. Like way above the previous gradient.
How much money has been spent/lost in the past 2 years!!
Because people were visibly dying, but this is a sower burn with the effects not so obvious.
