You need to rock up in an fcar. .. I did once and got the best reception, with two free key rings when I said I’m here to get them for my macan keys.
Nah I'll just deal with the older semi retired sales guy I bought my new 993 RS off. the young ones are just order takers ..
I worked in a jewellery shop part time all the years I was at university and it was drummed into me from day 1 that every customer was to be treated as if they were there to buy the most expensive thing in the shop. Sure enough, my first 1 carat diamond sale was to a cleaning lady from West End (it wasn’t gentrified in those days). She thanked me and said she settled on this one as I was the first salesperson to treat her seriously...
"Quality" sales people are rare ... I've only come across one car salesperson I would employ apart from (Jon) Bought my 1st new Porsche off him in 1992 a Carrera 4, after being ignored in Duttons for half an hour one Friday with my than wife ....looking at a Turbo 3.3 for her to drive ! Walked across the road to Hamilton Porsche greeted by Austin King , booked a time for Saturday to drive a Carrera 2 and a 4 and bought the 4 . Two years later ordered my new 993 RS off him...............every year no matter where he is I get a Birthday phone call..................................including last year stuck in GI.NOW that is a salesperson NOT an order taker .. People have said about "Cockies" buying new Rolls-Royce cars being ignored and bringing in a bag of cash and buying , say pre 1970 odd, that is BS Rolls-Royce dealers in Australia for decades since the Edwardian times had known of that game and knew those who could afford and those who could not . Anyway today off to look at Audi and Fiat, the C200 what a boring car . The main issue is stock of new cars ,nothing out there when it comes to the quality gear ..
And the car wasn't bad either I'm sure you miss Ross like myself, a true enthusiast and down to earth car guy
Yeah I know ,initially to the US & was sold again a couple of years ago. Not sure where it ended up. Doesn't look anything like John's photo anymore.
Still wasn't happy, that's one reason why it got the padded vinyl covering. It also simulated the fabric bodies of the era.
My pleasure An interesting description of events by Mr. Shelby You have to take your hat off to him ! He strikes me as the Yankee Bizzarrini
Yes its great to hear from these individual protagonists firsthand As opposed to Marque centric perspectives Shelby & his compatriots appeared to have been humble & dedicated men
They’re back at Costco if anyone is interested. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did you take notice of the model number? If that’s the 5000, that’s a good price. I’ve been very happy with it. I left the 575 suspended for about a month whilst working on it and had no issues
