No, I didn’t think to look at the model number, I just took a quick pic as I walked by. It was a quick in/out trip for a tray of sandwiches for the crew at work. I felt a little out of place being in the queue with only one item… Have you got the mufflers sorted yet?
Had a look at the Costco website, it’s the newer model 5000TL. Goes up 3” higher https://www.quickjack.com/car-lifts/5000tl/ Costco web price includes delivery https://www.costco.com.au/Automotive/Car-Accessories/Trolley-Jacks-Axle-Stands/QuickJack-5000TL-208-240V-Portable-Car-Hoist-5175632/p/5175418
Mufflers are on, sounds great. Really nice burble at idle. I’ve arranged the vacuum hoses so the valves are permanently open for the moment as I couldn’t get the valve controller to work. Think I know what the issue might be, I’ll sort it after the Christmas break
I don’t have the room john, this at least will be a lot better and safer and easier than Jack and stands. And it will do the GTR and Clubby as well as Horse. Can’t wait.[emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
It comes with a very well written instruction book on how to put it all together. Read it thoroughly and follow it precisely, initial set up is a bit of a fiddle connecting the hydraulic hoses and bleeding the system. Mine was supplied without an electric plug, (it’s the norm apparently) so pick one up from Bunnings etc and wire it yourself, easy peasey. They’re a great solution if you can’t fit a hoist, take up very little room when stored, I just slide it under one of the benches
As you know, I researched buying one of these a couple of years ago. There is even a Porsche 911 adapter/blueprint with rubber pads to accommodate the particular jacking requirements of the rear engined 911. You position it on the jack either further forward or back from memory. The old house would have been perfect for one of these. I can only only imagine the reaction if I bought a hoist, so I think this is a very good compromise. I know you've been thinking of one of these previously, and if this has an extra 3 inches of lift I think you've done really well with this. Greg would love those extra 3 inches. [emoji16]
Time certainly is at a premium this time of year. Sounds like you’re all over it and it won’t be too much of a PIA to sort.
I know, they can't spell "licenced" Anyway, I'm sure Jon will figure it out after a few beers - what could possibly go wrong?
That's just a reference to the electric plug which is not supplied and of course they'll say that, even Bunnings has signs everywhere in the electrical section warning that the electrical products must be installed by an electrician. Liability etc....
