Actually, after months of silence I finally got an email from Lotus today. My car is due for completion within the month with delivery May / June. Just in time for winter.
My mechanic mate Tom has a 4200, which I've seen stripped to the skin when he's been chasing electrical gremlins. A surprisingly well made car (Ferrari 430 engine) that, unlike Ferrari, is properly painted in the places you can't see. Unfortunately the interior deteriorates rapidly (including sticky buttons) and it often comes home on the back of a tow truck due to silly electrical faults.
A good friend had a 3200 ,low kms , very pretty car white with cream. Did his head in, electric windows unannounced would go up and down! Air/Cond would just turn on ! And other odd issues, All the normal experts in Melbourne tried to fix it with no success. It was sold on very quickly.
I thought that shape was stunning when first released in 2007 (and still do) The newest release is just an evolution of that original design, so I certainly agree with you
