Even worse Explains the front end impact to the Benz I think Vicpol is possibly moving towards a zero tolerance policy in regards culpable driving
When I first saw the story, about an hour and a half after the event, the reports were as I quoted. As you can all see, various situations changed due to the discovering and talking to the truck driver, his footage which won't be seen publicly(as was reported) and the Benz driver ,have changed throughout the day.
Whom in WA knows of this bloke he seems to be a bit clever: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-04-22/cliff-byfield-classic-cars-restoration/102245410

Simon, that is absolutely not what happened. What is wrong with you lately? For clarification, the Navara and the truck were approaching each other, on the same road. The Mercedes-Benz failed to stop at the give way sign which was at right angles to both the truck and the Navara. The impact pushed the Navara into the path of the oncoming truck.
Possibly, but the fact remains the driver failed to give way. He just drove straight through the give way sign.
Carlie darlie, you quite obviously did not see the news reports about an hour or so after the event. Even the cops took some hours to piece together the scene. As I have noted there are two different reports of how fast he was going when he got booked. That was the reason I posted coz the original report which I cut and pasted is there for all to see 118kph in a 110h zone...the only reason I posted. It has gone on from there to A diatribe regarding what/how.when and bloody why. I have only posted what was reported at the time I checked the item on both Nine news and ABC..then News.com has different reporting. NOW GET OFF MY FOIKING BACK REGARDING THIS CARL!
No, I won't get off you back. And if you read what I posted, it was nothing to do with being booked. So I don't know why you brought it up. You said the Mercedes, and I quote: Navara was at the stop/giveway sign, the Benz did a Liberace I'm sorry, but that's not what happened! The Navara was not stopped at all, it was on the same road as the truck, they were approaching one another.
There's a simulation here @ 1:26: https://7news.com.au/news/vic/more-deaths-confirmed-in-multi-vehicle-crash-in-strathmerton-c-10412396
OK, so let me get this right, you based your information on a report an hour or so after the event, that's what you said above. Then, even the cops took some hours to piece together the scene. You're right, I don't get my information from the news. I got it from family members who attended the scene. Dad's side of the family has a long history of Police work in the North East. We'll be able to read the inquest eventually, it will be on the public record. I still love you, and we can make up in a few weeks
Carll the reports of what happened changed regularly..all my post's were very early into the event...hence my post after B500's post and video. All I originally posted was the cut and paste from the first one i saw which had to do with the bloke being booked 8 klm over the limit as you will see if you look at my first post. I didn't write it,I cut and pasted the report.. After that reports were modified. My initial post was only about the speed/booking regarding an extremely veiled nudge at later in the year regarding some folks I know who are going for a drive. Indeed now the News.con site list the speed booking speed @ 188/100kph...another change from the time I posted this morning...it aslo said he had drugs in his system..CUT AND PASTE SPOILER: He allegedly returned a positive reading for cannabis on a preliminary test, documents tendered to Shepparton Magistrates Court on Friday reveal. Mr Joannidis, who had been travelling with a 20-year-old female passenger, was handed an infringement notice for driving at 118km/h in a 100km zone. A follow-up test was negative and he was permitted to leave at 2.18pm, the Herald Sun reports. That sample will be sent for further testing.
So you basically went off early? Well that’s what all your old girl friends reckon anyway.[emoji57][emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
