Received this from Shannon’s just now. Bit sad IMO Dear Customer, Some time ago we contacted you to advise of the decision to cancel the November Shannons auction and advised we would update you when we had further news to share.. The car auction landscape in Australia has changed significantly in recent years with an increasing number of offerings available in the market. Shannons has been at the forefront of catering to the unique needs of motoring enthusiasts for many years, and our auctions business has been a key part of our offering. Recent years have seen a notable increase in the options our customers have in buying and selling vehicles and plates, which has prompted us to review whether auctions is still a unique need alongside Shannons Insurance and Club. This review has resulted in a decision that Shannons will no longer facilitate auctions as part of its core business. This decision will not change Shannon’s innovative nature and we will continue to evolve the business to meet the unique needs of our community. Shannons will continue to be Australia's leading insurance provider for motoring enthusiasts and will continue its active involvement in the car club movement through the Shannons Club, Australia’s largest motoring enthusiast community. Shannons will also continue to look at ways to support its customers including ramping up key event-based activity. Please keep an eye on our website to stay up to date with news and further announcements. As a valued customer we wanted to share this update with you as soon as this decision was confirmed. We will continue to try to get in contact with you to discuss your personal circumstances and confirm next steps for your vehicle. Yours sincerely Shannons Auctions
I was only talking to them last week re ^^^,hence me putting it here that Feb was looking like the next auction. Bugger, I was looking at putting Shagger and the 365 in (if it was finished by then). Thanx to Collecting Cars,Trading Garage and another online one I can't think of. Oh well, buyer beware,at least with Shannons you had a semblance of credibility.
I’ve bought 2 cars and sold 1 through them, always was an easy process, with no surprises. Real shame. I wonder what they will do with all that real estate, the auction house in Sydney is pretty big. I would not be surprised if some of the key players set up their own auction house
Are you thinking of selling of the 365? Wow - I kinda see the 365 GT4 and Simon much like one thinks of the Ferrari 308 being synonymous with Magnum, the Mini with Mr Bean, the Dodge Charger with Bo and Luke Duke, the Firebird and James Rockford.
