Yes Rennie. This particular one,as you'll be aware, has left a particularly bad taste in my mouth.....and it has nothing to do with evenings with Carl. I am driving it down to Marc in 11 days to fit the original recon diff and for him to finish reconing the original gearbox. I will then have him recon the box that came with the car and probably let the auto diff go with the car as it's a great touring diff. The other box will then be for sale.
So even though it will have a manual spec differential, the whole unpleasant experience has soured your desire to retain the 365. Don't be too hasty - although you may have given it much thought already - but I understand. I kinda sold my 308 for similar sentiments and regret not being more resilient - it was my dream car after all. Your 365 is in a beautiful hue and its such an esoteric choice, I have much respect for the people that own them. But who knows, maybe you will finally get that Lamborghini Espada and Bowell Nagari - and that means you are going forward. I wish you well with the sale and future purchase.
Both 365's aren't suited to the roads on the GG,it's somewhat better on the GAD but still porpoises. i haven't asked Marc to have a look at getting rid of the original spring/shock setup and probably won't. Shagger is streets ahead and it's an older designed car. The 308 also kept smacking it's underneath at the same speeds other drivers were going. The 370 was brilliant but I got booked 3 times in 2 years.!
I would've thought the GT4 would ok with not getting smacked underneath as it has a short and sharpish front overhang. That's really surprising. Were the dampers and springing rates correct (thats a silly question given Pless owned that car!) or fresh on the GT4? I now can see why Moretti's front spoiler frequently got battled scarred on the GG given the lowness of the Euro spoiler and length of front overhang.
Marc assured me it was all good BUT PP was going to fit a bunch of fresh bushes prior to the prang,so it wasn't done. As I picked it up and drove back it became evident that I would be taking it to Marc unannounced . The bushes weren't done. A subsequent trip to Marc didn't get it done either, remedial rust work, notated here on the 308 thread Carl started, was in the forefront. A third trip to sort them out was made with me then putting on the market at the same time.
Interesting, way too many online sites to list yourself these days I guess without the buyer or seller giving away 10% or whatever of their sale or buy price.
Kenny Koala reckons his doesn't but then he drives like a grandfather...................oh hang on....
11% for Shannons and a $660 flagfall which buys you a detail,I think, and the all important report which is a poofteenth grade above a RWC.
That’s if you sell with a reserve, i put the 928 on without reserve, think it may have been 7%??? I’m still a bit perplexed as to why the online auctions have had an affect on them. They had a massive advantage of actually being able to go and have a look at the car etc
Not enough to be of concern. Worst is hard on the anchors and hitting a bump. It's always my fault anyway, too fast for conditions.
Looks like a Morettimodified Morettimobile https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1965-fiat-2300-s-manual/SSE-AD-16137381/?Cr=239
Other than new leather seats that car is very stock ...... even has the correct brake boosters which are nice impossible to find
Oh really, well check this same year, same price S out. The red one has modifications the other doesn't: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1965-fiat-2300-s-manual/OAG-AD-22286825/?Cr=1 Mags obviously. Foldout Airvent Weird side trim with Pininfarina badge moved. Extra chrome strakes one original vent. Noice maroon piping on aforementioned leather seats.
Different year models Simon.Early ones had single chrome bit on the vent & PF badge as per the White car & a rectangular grille badge.Later ones had round grille badges & chrome work as per Red car. Can't be sure about the extra vent or the PF badge. Mines not an S it's a 63 & is as per the white one.
Don't forget they are also Italian,so some bits varied in the same model run. Chrome bits vs Stainless is one that I know of.
The white one is Feb '65 the red owner hasn't said.....but he's also stating that there are less than 10 in Oz. Well we all know that is untrue.
