Every Prius taxi i've been in (i'd say about 10) pings/detonates at the slightest hill or attempt at acceleration. I'd say the engines give out before the batteries. We have Passat wagons up here too, they use them for the diesel but their gearbox's always fail.
That's weird...why would that happen? I've been in quite a few and never experienced that. they run fine on 91, so what the hell fuel are they using?
Mate it was literally fly in fly. Left rally Sat morning and drove back to Melbourne, dropped car off, showered changed cars and flew to GC, went to my Mums 70th, woke up had breakfast at Hotel and straight back to airport and back to Melbourne.
They do? I thought the Pious engine was a pseudo Atkinson cycle - it achieved the same result with trick valve timing.
What would make it really cheap is if you could charge it directly from the solar panels on the roof of your house. Wonder if that can be done?
I suppose anyone who has the panels is effectively getting the benefit of them regardless of when you are charging the car. Eg. We currently get a credit of 52c/kwh for the electricity the panels make. If I then plug the car in (at anytime) and the electricity it takes to charge it costs 22c/kwh, I'm in front. In that situation I could say I'm getting paid 30c/kwh to charge my car!
Can't remember which thread the discussion was had but these arrived today about 2 weeks after ordering via eBay. Not the finest materials used but they will look fine hanging on a garage wall. Well packaged so no complaints . Came with HK straight connector, small twist with some pliers and fit straight into the wall socket quite easily Image Unavailable, Please Login
How do you do that..? Sorry if I sounded a bit abrupt, but a few years ago I made a monumental gaffe (to someone who is now a minister in our esteemed government), a comment, without realising that they well and truly kicked for the other team - whoops! Always been a bit careful since..
