And when your car can be charged at the parking station during the day via solar panels installed on its roof, it can then discharge some of that stored power for use in your home at night.....thats when all of this technology gets really cool.....and its coming (slowly)
The Prius has a solar panel on the roof. It makes just enough power to run a fan that blows outside air into the cabin, and that's all. Makes a huge difference, but it'll never make a dent on the battery capacity.
Surely it does as then the aircon does not have to run so hard when the owner returns and jumps in and drives away. Audi (some models?) already run their aircon via a solar panel while the car is stationary. Great idea! Pete
