About bloody time! Look forward to seeing the beast again. Are you bringing the 575? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep!! Here's my LHD 6.....I find it gives 'em more lift into the next door neighbours; with the barking dog!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, aiming to get the Vette running for GG. Lots of assembly left to do, I built up enough of the engine so as no heavy things to heave over the guards, but there's boxes of stuff to go. Sent from my SM-G950F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
it's only a single garage, built by previous owner 50+ years ago. By the time I bought the house, it had a heritage order so I wasn't allowed to change the appearance from the street view. I'm sure you know all about council BS. Looks smaller again in the photo because I've got the car right against the wall, to make space for engine assembly and of course swinging the crane. You also can't see the door to my discipline room, although you've been in there more than once. Pity you weren't conscious - I'll go easier on the Rhohypnol next time
Ahhh it’s therapeutic and a labour of love my friend! I know you enjoy it as much as I do. Smart thinking to assemble as much of the heavy stuff. Saves damaging guards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The sound was amazing. I prefer the old F1 cars too. They LOOKED like lightweight racing cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To me, F1 should be something that shocks the senses. It should shock you with its speed. It should shock you with its noise. I remember when the hairs on the back of the neck would stand up just in anticipation of the noise. Even when you stand there with your fingers in your ears you should feel it in your chest. When that F18 flew over my head a month or two ago and shook the very foundations of the building I was standing in, that’s what I’m talking about. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve seen / heard it, it still sends shivers down the spine. I found I almost had tears running down my cheeks at the sheer power of the thing. I remember saying to my friends how incredible it is that one machine could effectively dominate an entire city, just by the sound and power alone. That is what F1 should be about. Leave the lefty vacuum cleaner PC crap to the lesser classes of racing.
Spot on Steve, I never got to hear the V12’s in person or the V10’s for that matter but I went to Melbourne in the mid 2000’s and you could easily hear the cars on track from the CBD. Yes and trackside the sound went straight through you, was as stimulating as the racing itself !!! F1 has lost a lot with the current formula
Yep, 100% Felt the same when I heard my first F1 car and when an F18 flew overhead on Australia Day once. All senses attacked at once, causing an outpouring of emotion, part primal, part just marvelling at what humans can achieve.
I have indeed. And I agree they are absolutely awesome! I actually reckon the Tornado is the loudest I’ve ever heard at close range. But we’re splitting hairs. The point is, as Greg said well above, it should attack you on every primal level. Almost make you feel like you’re in danger. Old F1 cars did that. They need to again.
Spot the i3 owner. (Although I do kind of agree. They just need to be 3x louder) Image Unavailable, Please Login
They're a symphony of noise...I find the sound fascinating. On top of the engine/turbo/electric/wastegate noises, I love that you can hear the brakes and tyres as well.
Apparently the current cars are heading in the right direction. But I doubt they sound as thrilling as the cars in the clip above. Did you go to the Melbourne GP? In person are they shocking? I appreciate they are seriously fast. The last race I went to was 2014 Monza, and the GP2 cars were by far the most exciting. The F1 was like listening to my neighbour do the vacuuming. When the poor guy walked through the stands selling ear plugs he was actually being laughed at.
