C3's are unloved. Heavier, slower and softer handling than C2's. Design is overwrought and proportions not quite right - car is too narrow for its length. 68's have a following but that's about it.
I liked the old fashioned version: OUR WORKSHOP RATES ARE $60 per hour, IF YOU WANT TO WATCH, $80 per hour, IF YOU WANT TO HELP, $100 per hour.
I have a bit of a soft spot (yeah, yeah, yeah!) for the '68 with a 327 manual but don't really know much about their performance.
I like the 68 car too, but not so much its claustrophobic cabin and plastic dashboard. Most early C3's you'd buy today would be on at least their first engine rebuild and have smog gear removed. But over time that got harder to do and the plastic bumper C3's are total slugs. California introduced Emission controls in 1966, everywhere else 1968. Smog pumps, cam timing retarded, etc. Introduction of catalysts in 1970 made things worse again. After 1967, GM went from understating quoted power to overstating.
yep I'm aware of the emission crap, were their any Aussie delivered ones I wonder. i once had a '65 Caddy that was one of that years original RHD Lober conversions with the 429,jeeeeeezus didn't it have some liftoff for such a large car. Most hilarious drive from Sydeney back to here I've ever had!

Cheers mate, I started to collect some hardcover F1 books to put into my man cave one day but I stopped collecting them when I realised that I will never have time to read them all before I die.
