Rob, my mate runs Evans in the Penske indy car, it runs at exactly the same temperature as my car with distilled water, wetting agent and corrosion inhibitor. He spent a lot of time and effort changing to Evans, I said at the time it wouldn't be worth it.

Glycol reduces the heat transfer rate of water, so I run no more than 20% coolant in road cars.

Ian , what about the boiling point of 190 as to the 109 of normal coolants?

I had it in that prewar MG and felt very comfortable with it .

The old T I run a strong mixture of coolant , but in traffic the gauge still climbs, never boiled her .

I don't want to mount an electric fan ,as they can be seen through the grille

Both, no issue on the open highway .

The temp gauge climbs in hot weather stuck in traffic ,I'm wanting to control that if i get stuck in summer weather traffic.

I don't wish to fit an alloy radiator to an original car , that has the potential to win at a RROCA Federal Concour..The age and authenticity award .

None of my fleet of Rolls-Royce Bentley motorcars have mods to the cooling .

When I had the blue Flying Spur an owner had fitted a cooling fan to the front of the radiator , I removed it , never had an issue including an Autumn drive in the Flinders rangers in heat sitting on 110mph for mile after mile.

Last photo my late stepfather ,when he pulled the motor out of his SIlver Cloud lll and fitted factory high compression piston, ported the heads and replaced a noisy camshaft at 40,000 miles in 1968, a brilliant engineer , who rebuilt the motor on my fathers V12 Phantom and overhauled the Packard Merlin in my Godfathers P51.,which sadly he was killed in.

Sadly his Rolls-Royce he bought when nearly new in 1965 and he had till his death in 2018 is now with his daughter parked in a shed on a farm ...feeling sad.

Not talking about yours....all the other cars going on the run?

So you have a cooling issue with the car you're taking, take the one that doesn't.
Ask yourself why one has an issue in traffic and the other(s) don't and frigin; deal with it one way or the other, several folk here have given you options and all are reversible..talk about rocket science. :p

Can't an electric fan go on the engine sides of the radiator? Maybe even a couple? Easy! Just remove the standard fan.

Its easy the Silver Cloud lll has a much larger radiator as does the Corniche , the 1st series of Silver Shadows /T Series Bentley models were in the 1st 3 years or so NOT fitted with Air/Cond as standard and were fitted with smaller radiators ,around 1969 they fitted the larger capacity radiator .

As a project you could have a shroud custom made to house two electric fans.
