So unfortunately my car just disgraced itself in a target parking lot.

Hopefully it won't be too expensive. I'm not particularly mechanically gifted but I think this is coolant. There was an appalling hissing and whining from the engine bay for a good 5 minutes until everything had drained out.

    Any advice?

Bring it home, look on the driver side of the engine. Is there coolant in the top of the engine bay?

Is there any visible coolant on the hose visible on the drivers side of the engine.

If no, then take off the bottom pan. Check the hose on the front part of the engine.

My wager is it's a simple hose that went pop on the front part of the engine from water pump to the lines downward.

Specifically I'd check #19, #20 and then #14 when the engine pan is off if 19 and 20 are intact.

With the age of the 360, wouldn't be surprised if original hoses are going to go.

Thanks very much for your reply, and I'm convinced that you're right. The car lived most of its life in Arizona so I would imagine that many hoses and grommits should be replaced. I'm actually not going to try and diagnose it further - it's going in for a major next week in any case so I'm going to ask the shop to check and replace all rubber / perishable hoses and fixings. I want the car to be perfect.

Fortunately this happened while idling in a carpark so the car never overheated and starts / drives fine to get it on and off the tow truck.
