I looked at Speed and according to their schedule, they won't be showing the race again. I would even buy a copy, but can't find any sites selling a digital copy or a download? I can't be the only person who missed the race who wants to see it?

i used to watch re-runs of races on justin.tv ...but they now have zero F1 links (not even live) so i suspect EB's lawyers might have reached out to them ;) ...other than vipbox.tv which is only at live times, i don't know another source?

You can't. They're TORRENTS. You pays your nothing, you takes your chances.

I saw the Torrent's download, but the site looked sketchy and the last thing I need is a virus.

Just go to torrentz.eu and search for Monaco 2012. I usually chose to grab the torrent file from The Pirate Bay and haven't had an issue yet. I download the 720p versions quite often because my Time Warner DVR is constantly forgetting my recordings.

You didn't miss anything. Monaco is the most boring race on the calendar - no passing at all.

    Helpful comment. Thanks.

Have you read the race thread? General consensus ranged from it being "pretty good" to "great". Certainly one of the better processions they've had there over the years.

It's Monaco after all - You know going in there isn't going to be any passing, and even if one of 'em tries they get penalised ;)

Please return to watching the skittles get flushed down the toilet if you want lots of overtaking - Thats' really exciting - I won my third Nascar fantasy race this past weekend, and my dog chose my entries. If you like random, meaningless, overtaking, it'll be right up your street. :)

Having said that, there are those here who think even F1 is too random right now..... 6 winners in the first 6 races has *never* happened I believe. It's boring though....

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Thankyou.

Love the sig line BTW - I really don't give a damn how or from what you made your post! ;)

Back on topic, and without wishing to get into the usual religious debates, anyone using Torrents on the Mac? I never have, but guess "the great virus problem" is moot?

    Cheers,
    Ian

Oh yeah, damnit! :) [Another 3 1/2 hours down the drain!]

The entire BBC coverage via their iPlayer - *Great* quality on the iPad and I've only just got thru the intro - A Pirelli tire playing roulette in the casino and rolling around all over the place interspersed with Murray'isms etc - Awesome stuff! Also glad to hear they're *still* using the Fleetwood Mac track in the intro - Been the same for what, 30+ years now?

The only caveat is that iPlayer is saying it's only available for 4 (more?) days, so it's not there forever.

    Cheers,
    Ian

I don't need to read a race thread to tell me how boring a race was. Nor do I need to hear another person's opinion to tell me how boring a race was. Key word that you wrote is "procession"..... Monaco, as a track, should have been yanked from the schedule decades ago.

I cannot return to something I have never been part of, and that is watching NASCAR. I don't care for random, meaningless overtaking. I care for strategic and brave overtaking, like what we got to see prior to Monaco. I'll sit down and watch NASCAR along with WWE wrestling about the same time that the sun turns green.

Aside from Monaco, this is the best season going so far in a very long time. I cannot understand anyone who thinks it is too random.

Fair enough. I was just noting that your opinion is in the minority. I believe we have a (generally ;)) pretty knowledgeable crew here, and virtually all rated it as a "good" to "great" Monaco GP.

Yep, of course it's a procession. Been that way for >50 years!....

OK. Question; Do you think the F1 WC would be richer or poorer without Monaco?

Yes, it's an anachronism. Yes, there's no overtaking. Yes, it's expensive (although, it seems, cheaper than Austin! ;)) No, of course it wouldn't get on the calendar today. But, to me at least, losing it would be akin to losing Silverstone or Monza. It's unquestionably the most important race of the year to most of the now all important sponsors etc.

Is it BS? No doubt, but the guys with the check books love it - The drivers and teams want to win it more than any other race. Even the fans on site love it. Vive Monaco!

We at least agree on the latter! ;)

But again, I honestly believe F1 would be infinitely poorer if Monaco wasn't on the calender. FWIW, even the Pygmy agrees on this :)eek:!) - I'm pretty sure it's the only race that doesn't pay him a hosting fee. It's the one race (outside of their home GP) that they *all* want to win.

It's Monaco! Long may it continue to be the ridiculous spectacle that it is! Boring? Not if you value the history and longevity that is one of the reasons F1 is what it is IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

"Procession" or not, for me, it is about this history of Monaco, and I love the location, city streets and all--I am always compelled to watch it and cannot resist the draw. If I could only find a link. I am going to try a few of the suggestions is this thread.

When I try the link, says "Available in UK only" and I am in the US, so no go.

If you really want to fix that, www.strongvpn.com is the way I did it...... $55 for a year and you're good to go.

Yes, there are "free" options, but IME they're pretty unreliable and/or laden with ad's.

I now have the BBC iPlayer and the ITV equivalent that are only available in the UK. Still working on Sky Go ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian
