Years ago, my door panels were recovered and then sat in a box. I went to put them on today and realized I am missing the window scraper between and door panel and the inside of the glass. I looked at the parts diagram and there is not a separate number for just the scraper. Does someone have a closeup photo of what is supposed to be between the door panel and the glass? For those who have had their panels off -- is the scraper attached to the panel? How is it attached?

I bought my window/door felt from Reoriginals here in Houston. Cut to fit with metal shears, then riveted it onto the door panel. I measured to fit against my old, worn felt strips--if you don't have any, just measure on the door panel. I think one edge is angled...

Yep, that's it. I've always called them window scrapers but I guess scrub is as good a name as any. It's a little hard to tell from the photo, but my gap between the panel and window is about 3/8". You mention in your post that the width of the Rutland scrub is about 1 1/8" but how thick is it? I wish I had the originals to compare as I have no idea what was supposed to be there.

Don't know the width dimension but I assure you it's the right stuff. Since I replaced mine 2-3 years ago I've seen the same stuff for half the price but $5/foot was reasonable. I overbought. Think the door is about 35 inches and I got 10 feet (to do both doors and allow one big mistake), which I wouldn't do again. Remember it goes the full width of the door panel, even by the vent window, and tucks down at the ends so that no sharp edges are presented.

To accomplish bending at the ends, you must cut pie shaped pieces of the bottom to facilitate a neat bend yet keeping it flat against the panel. In addition, I recall a couple of places which a half moon needed to be removed. So you will need some good tin snips.

HELLO > ANY ONE OUT THERE WITH PICTURES ??

Sorry I've never gotten into the habit of documenting my work (not that I don't have a hundred+ cameras) and shame you misplaced the originals but you might have a good mental guide by marking the original pop-rivet holes. Perhaps that and knowing there are bends like around the vent pillar, will help you visualize the shape you will need to fit.

I got new window scrubs from Rutlands today and I need help installing them. In a previous life, my door panels were removed and recovered. When I got the car, the panels were in a box and the original scrubs were long ago discarded so unfortunately I have no idea what they look like installed. Photos would be most welcomed.

My main questions at this point are:

    - Are the scrubs installed with the fuzzy part flush with the top of the door panel?
    - Are the scrubs installed completely flat against the vertical lip of the door panel?
    - How many rivets are used and approximately where are they located? The new door panel leather is not marked and I can't seem to "poke around" on the edge to find all the holes in the fiberglass shell.

I'm bang in the middle of refurb'ing my doors. I'm not home tonight yet but I'll post up pictures of how the 'fuzzy' felt is attached to the door cards in the next day if you still need help.

I got my 'fuzzy' felt years ago from Maranello's in the UK but the same stuff can be had from trusty trim companies such as Woolies: http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/

The later cars it's an actual rubber lip, like you see on the outside.

Only the early cars had the "fuzzy" strips, as ReOriginals sells.

They may have the later profile too, but IIRC it IS made into the bead trim......

About five or six rivets for the whole piece...

What, Greg 328..about five inches apart???

We can see them when completed, on our cars...

Thanks for the pictures Jesper and Andy. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to tackle it this weekend.
