Hi, My dash dimmer knob is missing! had a look at Daves stick sites to no avail, anyone know whereabouts it might be worth a try? Regards G P
I think McCann wants $60 for one. At that price you don't need knowledge, you just need your checkbook!
what's it look like? I don't have my car here for reference. does it look like any of these??? Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a little twisty knob with a rheostat attached. If you need me to, I can take the one off my car and shoot a picture. Come to think of it, Corbani did a saga on it a while back. He rebuilt one (of course). Mine doesn't work too well, more of an on/off switch than a dimmer.
You can see two of these rheostat knobs in the attached photo. Cheers...Keith Image Unavailable, Please Login

Wow, have they really gone up that much? Like I said, Dennis has them listed for a lot less but I don't actually know if they are "in stock". Find a broken one - lots of Dino owners probably have a spare, broken rheostat with a perfectly good knob.
Just the knob right? Not the enitre assembly? Seems pretty simple then. Search electronic supply houses until you find the right knob. Allied electronics is one of my favorites. http://www.alliedelec.com/ Have at it. I think they have 10K different knobs there, one's bound to fit. Dave
Got some pictures on one of my old Dino Sagas. Take a look. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100210&highlight=060402___Instrument Don't remember whether knob was part of shaft or what. You probably can come up with something similar as a replacement part of a table lamp. (US version of a table lamp of course) Would imagine Fiat or Alfa cars of that era would have similar dimmers. Bone yard might help. A filled epoxy would probably hold a knob on if the shaft is still OK. My fix has held up just fine. Lights are still bright yet can still be dimmed. John
Just looked at a display of wire nuts in a hardware store. Shape of many are just the size and shape of the dimmer knob. About 20 cents apiece. Some even come in black but color is not a problem if you have a spray can of black paint. No big deal to make a knob if Unobtanium. Cut to length, bore and glue things together. John
