Missing spring?

Whilst stripping outer insulation from some second-hand plug leads to fit into the dizzy caps......to something that wouldn't send the dyno and afr meter crazy with electrical interference, the operator impatiently wandered over to see my progress.

He remarked that the thermo warm up device on this carb 308, wasn't tracking on the cam - the flat section - with the car warm. Never paid much attention to it, other than to note, when cold, the foot is tracking it when cold and touching the throttle mechanism at the other end.

I note, there is nothing like a clock spring shown in the parts diagram, but wouldn't be the first time Ferrari has omitted showing parts that are present.....
