Yes, early P400 had this type of forked-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, sometimes covered in vinyl or leather.
A few more details that we finished up. Electrical test with everything working, correct window sticker for P400, Correct horn and we fabricated correct exhaust tips. I still need to ceramic coat tips and I'm waiting for a period correct batter. It leaves to day to be re united with its motor! Jon, looks great, I hope to see it very soon. Minor detail - do you know if the lift-gears in the headlight motors are the original nylon/plastic items, or have brass units have been retrofitted? Image Unavailable, Please Login
As far as i know, on the headlight mechanism were used brass gear wheels, on the window lift mechanism nylon/plastic gear wheels.
Original gears were plastic and tend to fail as shown below (gear with the hose clamp on it). Brass ones are available to fix the broken plastic ones. Note the mounting brackets are also stamped with the body number. The headlight bucket is too but you can not see it in this photo. Great restoration Jon. Cheers Jim Image Unavailable, Please Login
All those parts appear to be interchangeable with the Miura. If i need headlight motor parts in the future, I will check Pantera prices too. Cheers Jim
