Rumor has it that Lamborghini is going to introduce a new Miura, Espada and SUV labeled the LM00X. http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000430062056 Oh yeah, and it also says the next gen Murci will have 1000 HP.
It is amazing what you can do with platform sharing, and borrowing lesser marques components. - At least the emblems and Lamborghini stamped on the air cleaner will be genuine. Maybe Audi can make a Lamborghini, with the VW bug platform ? What about an SUV ?
suppose the new Muira design will be screwed up like they almost always do with re-designed cars...the Ford GT being a rare exception..
So does this car.... hmmm kind'a funny isn't it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They need to quit beating around the bush and just come out with a passenger van. They should also come out with a $30K car to compete with the BMW 3 series while they are at it.
Yep that's the road their going down, a Lambo in every garage...Doomed to failure. Sorry to be a sour puss, but just look at the other companies that have tried it.
Those cars started from the bottom of the pyramid and climbed up. Lamborghini is among the companies at the top. Climbing down has proven more difficult than going up.
Moving down market will cheapen the brand but, it will not kill it. Moving down will only serve to strengthen the brand in the eyes of the all mighty dollar. Which isn't bad if you don't have to own up to making the car.
You misread the article. It says the next Murci MIGHT have a 1000hp Version, the actual replacement to the Murcielago will not have a 1000hp Motor. It talks about a new Miura, based off the Audi LeMans chassis, boasting a 700hp V12, which will slot above the Murcielago, and compete with the Enzo. Furthermore this article is just a rewrite of an Edmunds.com article which was posted 2 days ago. In the original article there is no mentioning of the Murcielago replacement, only the 2+2, SUV, Miura, and a 1000hp Car (if you ask me the Miura and the 1000hp Car are the same project) Autoblog stretched their interpretation of the Edmunds.com article just a tad too far.
Everyone is bashing these cars now, but im sure when they truly do come out they will very impresive and look way better, lamborghini is not stupid, with the adition to the gallardo there making so many millions more, but i do understand the anger, Lambo used to be Original, Rare and mostly of all the most exotic piece of automotive genious out there, they are watering down the exoticness of the brand by making these half ass cars, but thats what every company is doing now anyways....thats were Pagani on the other hand is doing the right thing, keeping the brand solid by focusing on one car and not selling out....
I like the designs. I hope Lamborghini pursues this avenue - it's probably the only way they'll be able to survive at all as a separate brand. IMHO, the days of small production #s are over for the "big boys" in the exotic car world. Even Ferrari makes tens of thousands of cars these days. The new "Small manufacturers" like Zonda are the new niche players, and price their cars accordingly.
Hello, Here is a good one that happened to me last week. I drove my last Miura (s/n 4821) in the moutains for photo shots, A 30-35 years young father with two childrens came to see the car that was parked in a nice light. His question was : "Very nice car, is it the last Lamborghini ?" I replied : "Not too bad for a 40 years old car !" and invited the childrens to climb inside. That there my friends..Is a Lamborghini..a true car built by people who wanted to make an impression on the world. A car built by car lovers, not bean counters and accountants. That car is what a Lambo is all about.
