I have a friend thinking about buying an SV and it seems prices are all over the map. Can anyone tell me what they have seen the cars actually selling for??? Car is original and documented but it had a color change a few years back. Paint has some chips and marks but the body looks great. He is looking for a driver that he can admire not a showcar. Any key areas to check that are prone to rust or cracking??

A car was sold last summer for 450K. I heard of another car, that went for more money. A driver will be priced less. Their are not a lot of cars to go around. They built approximately 140/150 cars.

Area behind front wheels. Check the frame.

For the price of an SV, it is worth consulting an expert, for each step of the buying process. Try Gary Bobileff in San Diego. - Bobileff motor.

Miuras can rust from the inside out - thankfully, much of the frame is pretty easy to inspect by opening up the front and rear deck. I've found that a good indicator of frame condition is to take a flashlight and peek inside the drilled frame members by the front and rear wheels, the air tunnel under the car, and around the gas tank. SVs tend to come with all the necessary bracing to keep the frame from buckling, but double check areas like the front strut mounts for signs of cracks or repair anyways. A good 2- car is a fair deal at $400K retail, I'd say.
