even with "the horrendous U.S side-marker lights, which do nothing for the beautiful Bertone body" ?????
Indeed. Living in the USA Ive grown to really appreciate the cars manufactured just for this market, a limited series of 21 cars, with all their features, side-markers included. I also appreciate this car's place in the history of Miura SVs, being the factory publicity car, and being the prototype for the aforementioned series. Then there is the car's physical disposition which I rate higher then any Ive personally encountered. In my very humble opinion (if I may suggest so myself being the car's owner) I look at it as being sort of peerless. Remember, given my track record of multiple cars, if thought another was more desirable, chances are Id be pursuing that car Joe www.joesackey.com
i know and i agree its stunning (tho i do prefer them without the us side markers) - sorry was only messing the real question is did you recognise the quote

DS has them too but its floor-mounted and up and over the back of the seat, so the unit is often laid back there to save having to 'dig' them from under you when you get in the car. My ex-5038 had a set fitted. Joe www.joesackey.com

I think the most miraculous aspect of the Miura design is the fact that it always looks good. Some cars look great from the side or great from the front or great from the 3/4 angle, but never perfect all around. The Miura always appears to be beautiful no matter how poor or great the photographer may be. I hate to use the word perfect to describe anything other than myself, but the Miura may be just that.
Cheers Joe, I never can get enough of those, thanx. Check this: http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/video_player.shtml?vid=207082
Thanks. Thats the Martin family P400. Actually, Jay tells the story of P400 3237 a little differently from the way it really was, but one can forgive him for the minor deviation. 3237 was purchased new via Bob Estes by the teenage DINO Martin (the son, not the father). He was accompanied to the Estes showroom by his mother and as the sales manager at the times told it to me, she rolled her eyes and said: "He made the money from gigs with his band and wants to buy the car with his own money. What can I do?" The car was indeed used by Dino to go to high school, but it never belonged to his famous dad as is often erroneously parroted. The attached yellow Ferrari 412P that Dean Martin DID drive on Los Angeles streets was clearly the inspiration for Dino's Miura misgivings... Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
