Many thanks, is it okay to get the vin? If not, no worries. I'll contact some of my friends in NZ to see if they know the car's specific whereabouts, I may be going back there next year and I'll be keen to see it. Nice to know there's now another Miura that has arrived safely in NZ
Can anyone tell me the chassis/engine number of the Autocar Roadtest Miura S from the August 13th 1970 issue? Also, if anyone knows what it is, where the car is today? I know the answer to the first question, but not the second;-) Image Unavailable, Please Login
a nice sighting.. p.s. sorry for the camera phone pictures.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
location was in los angeles , didnt get the vin due to the reason of not knowing the owner,, privacy reasons i guess..
Hi folks, I'm writting from deep far south of France, today I've met and spent the whole day with an awesome 72 years old guy who owned several Miuras in his life and who told me so many stories... The last one is sitting in his garden as it burned 40 years ago... pictures will follow when I will be back from my trip in september...
I think 4428 went for 300 and change. It looked a little rough so the price was probably inline. The Gooding car looks quite well restored and I would expect it to fetch more.
I was negotiating for and ended up offering $315k for 4428 about a year ago. The seller refused my final offer "knowing" it was worth "much, much more" than that. Seems I wasn't far off. If the winner of the auction is on the forum or anyone knows him, I probably still have a copy of the PPI including compression testing. Not a great PPI, actually, but he might find it somewhat helpful.
I just checked the posted auction results and I was misinformed. Miura S (with SV badging, gold sills & wheels) sold for $396,000 Another S sold for $533,000 and the SV sold for $825,000. http://www.sportscardigest.com/wp-content/uploads/Gooding-Pebble-Beach-Official-Results.pdf http://www.rmauctions.com/AuctionResults.cfm?SaleCode=MO10&SortBy=HB&View=Normal&Category=Cars&Currency=USD Thank you, Gary, for finding 4032 for me.
Mr Albert Silvera (in the dark blazer leaning on what I believe to be a Rolls Royce Corniche he owned) talking to a couple. In close up on the right is, what I also believe to be, a silver 1950s Rolls Royce limousine with chauffeur at the wheel. Possibly a Phantom with Mulliner coach, then again I am not an expert. In front of the hotel lobby entrance is the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SVJ No. 4990. By Jean-Marc Bailly. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Silvera's 4990 as a new car, showing that the chrome headlamp surround bezels were original and unique to this SVJ. Image Unavailable, Please Login
20 years later chrome bezels still affixed. Has been repainted red, now with chrome rivets also. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isn't the owner of this car on Lchat? Seems I remember it being posted awhile back. Debating going to the auction to see it in person http://www.wwgauctions.com/auctions/details.cfm?vehicleID=29&id=24 (sorry, can't pull a pic from the auction website)
