I know all the hot jelly bean colors were all the rage, and i love them also, but this special brown color is fabulous imo on these cars... i think fits the era and flows on her body lines.

ah. I must have read that backwards.

and that metallic brown does look good, but the brightness of the green and orange and just do it for me. although I don't know if I have ever seen a bad color on a miura. the dark metallic blue looks great as well

"It was the other way round, the brown (Luci Del Bosco) was covered with orange before it left the factory."

Not sure you did "read that backwards:

"Coachwork supplier Bertone’s production records reveal that ‘4854’ was originally painted Arancio Miura, whilst the Lamborghini factory archive documents reveal that it was finally delivered to the customer in Luci del Bosco (‘lights of the forest’, a mid-brown) – a typical last-minute overpaint made in period to keep clients happy."

Either Simon or Joe has it backwards, but their statements contradict.

    Agreed.

Sorry, for some reason I had this car's story in my mind as having been recently restored not in the color that it left the factory in, I realize I was thinking of another car restored in recent times, I checked again and factory delivery records indeed show Luci Del Bosco/Senape.

Where is #5070 today? Still in France? Any photos available? I heard the car had a very severe crash many years ago...

First RHD Miura is #3949, a P400S? Seems very late? I guess there are several previous P400 RHD out there?

In the factory register, as published in Joe's Miura Bible, there are a number of RHD Miuras that do not have GD written next to the entry.

Subject already discussed in this thread.

A good summary was written by our friend P300V8 in post #15445 :

1st RHD Miura = #3198 prod #110 - 03/10/1967 . Yes, no-mention of RHD / GD in the Factory listing, but "guida destra" = GD mentionned on Bertone's records.
    Then, Miura #3318 prod.#134 on 28/05/98, followed by Miura #3372 prod.#181 on 28/05/1968.

Possible also, that #3318 is in fact a LHD Miura later (quickly ?) converted to RHD, when we see that the fuel tank cap & pump are on the RHS of the car, and that the wiper motor is still on the LHS, just like any conventional LHD Miura...

Previously mentionned Miura #3949 prod.#332 being around the 10th RHD Miura built.

The typed lists, as published in a Joe's book, are not infallible and those who have studied the Miura properly will quickly reach this conclusion...

Sent to me by the owner of 4904.

    Noses.

GTOs have a rich Competizione heritage, so, somebody just paid $80 million for one.

The Miura is still more stylish...

  24. And apparently about 40-80 times more affordable. Wow. Is that the highest 250 paid price now?

80MM. Wow. That is amazing. Not long until we get our first 100MM collector car. They are truly trading like art...finally. But that carries a new set of issues-wealthy art speculators who will purchase and place into more collections, away from public eye, never to be driven again. Such a shame. Joe, is the 80MM sale confirmed or just rumored?
