Joe these are absolutely first class historical images. Thanks for posting. What fun they must have had.

    Lamborghini versus Ferrari.

More historical images, the late great George Dyer's Miura P400 and 250 GTO in California in the late 60s.

He replaced the P400 with an SV of the same color in 1972, both were supplied to him by Bob Estes, the latter car is still here in California.

    It's P400 3240. Dyer's SV was 5018. The 250 GTO was 4219 GT.

This happens often when images are scanned from old color slides.

Just watched the latest Tyrrell's Classic Workshop video with Iain and Olivier.

There is something to learn every time. I cannot match that kind of originality, having parts from at least 10 different Miuras and a lot of new fabricated metal parts, but I share the same enthusiasm and passion in the restoration process. There is magic around that I have never come across with other Italian or British sports cars or the Zuffenhausen ones for that matter.

So the fact that this thread had life breathed into it today is timely - I watched the new "Lamborghini" movie last night and despite (this has been thoroughly discussed so won't hijack this thread as to the movie itself) it perhaps not being the "Grand Prix" or "Ford vs Ferrari" of 2022 :) I must admit that the portions having to do with the Miura alone were worth watching/paying for the movie.

WOAD one of the most beautiful cars ever created - Thanks for breathing life back into this amazing thread - it is fascinating to read from start to finish - Nice work as usual Joe S.

    Cheers

    Hi!

to follow history of the Miura, I still have a question:

There always have been corrections made to the official production-numbers during the last decades.

If you believe in the information from Radical-Mag https://radical-mag.com/2021/08/12/lamborghini-miura-all, the numbers are now:

    • P400 = 260 pc.

    • P400S = 330

    • P400SV = 142
