Speaking of the "newer" current valid production numbers, we should now have 45% Miuras without chrome (SV’s excluded, the Shah’s P400S anyway) – it’s fascinating!

You mean around 45% of Miuras are P400S, which are with chrome. Around 36% of them, (P400) are without. There are just over around 19.5% of Miuras which are SVs, that are with chrome. So around 64% of all Miuras are with chrome.

This is “Jay l’anatroccolo” or “Jay the duck”. It is not intended as a car. It is a work of art for educational purposes that was made by Yuji Watahiki in Japan entirely out of aluminium. That includes the chassis, so it would not be able to take the loads from road or track use.

As I understood their plans, it was never intended to be more than a sculpture. A curious story with a few episodes on YouTube that are worth looking for and which show the build process and lots of photos of the original car.

and "Jay the duck" was presented with the front hood the 27th April 2019 before the innauguration of "Piazza ferruccio Lamborghini", where Piet brought his JOTA and I came with my Murcielago to the event... Ingrid Pussich, Valentino Balboni, Ciara Stanzani, Tonino's daughters and so many others friends & fellows attempted the event !

Fantastic dedication to the Jota, one can be forgiven for thinking that over time plans could change and this body might end up on a running car, meanwhile it would make a nice display in the factory's official Museo.

Some question about metal processing at Bertone

Front- and rearshell = alloy, doors and other components = steel

    I read in Pete Lyons‘ book „Lamborghini – History – Types – Techniques“, ©1988,

that it was very very expensive to replace the matrix for their shapeforms (at their „pressing machines“)?

So what happened to the that car???

QED? These numbers as always are a good close approximation, there were cars that started life as a P400 and later officially became a P400S or SV etc.

Congrats, John on buying P400S #4170 back. Very pretty with velocity stacks, but I'd get the air filters that are with the car back on it to protect the engine internals from debris.

It is #4808 displayed on Lamborghini stand at Geneva in 1971... and became later the "Moby Dick" or SVJ-Roadster converted in 1980, by Lamborghini Motors near Basel, official dealer, with front and rear hoods purchased at factory "reparto clienti".... and later displayed at the 1st Geneva exhibition of the "Nuova Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini newly owned by the Mimran brothers....

As per my knowledge the transformation happened at Lambo Motors - where they had the hoods from I have to check, since I know the person for whom the conversion was done, it was the salesman of Lambo Motors.

That's what I wrote and show, the car was converted at that official dealer

#4808 was belonging to Mr Zenari, he was one of the partners of the dealership.

One day, he went to Sant'Agata and discovered these 2 hoods stuck on the wall at "reparto clienti" and asked to buy them for his project.

    Factory sold it to him.

Back to basel, his team converted his Miura, adapted the hoods and #4808 in what we know...

Mr Zenari has testified this story in my interview recorded when I sold the car to current owner.

Thanks Olivier - I know Mr. Zenari since decades meanwhile, we didn't discuss this point that deep - I was going to contact him, but you clarified already.
