x-posted on technical Q&A rather nasty situation here... my uncle left his 355f1 at a gas station and asked them to top her up on glycoshell. when he picked the car up later he drove it for about 8-10 km and parked it. after a couple of hours he was about to leave but the gearbox warning light was flashing and wouldn t allow him to shift gears (obviously). i checked the car 2 days ago and there was an overfill in the gearbox fluid tank, and it also seemed to be the wrong colour. instead of being clear red it was a foggy dark red. i quickly came to the conclusion that some **** managed to put glycoshell into it and kept on till it seemed full. any ideas as to the possible extend of the damage? the actuator is a 1 year old exactly and the F1 pump was changed end of july with a new one. good thing i never let anyone touch anything on my 355 :/
Some gear boxes have auto transmision fluid in them including some manual boxes. This fluid is red. I can recall some one else asking the same question on here. So this could be the reason for the red oil. But you say that you think it might be Glycoshell?? Whats that??
yup, the oil is red but clear. the one i checked was really dark and extremely foggy imagine absinth with water... about the same but on the red side
