Rox dodged a bullet with Baez' hug. WTF.
Wow what a crazy game at Wrigley! The Cubs has sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many chances to win and lost it all with 2 straight loses at home. This is one game were instant replay had a direct effect. If that hit batter (Gore) was allowed to stay at first in the 13th it could have been completely different. And Gore turned out to be a moron for swinging on the next pitch! What the hell was he thinking?
Frustrated to see the Red Sox aren't running Sale innings 1-7 and Kimbrel 8-9 tonight. If it's going to be a dog fight with the Yankees why not leave it all on the table... particularly when Sox got game 1 and would win the series if they go game for game. Eovaldi may work out, and lord knows Price is a disaster in the post season, but why leave your ace on the bench?
Retract everything I posted earlier today - that's why Cora does what he does and I watch from the stands!
The Dodgers live or die on two things: Starting pitching Home runs. It’s been like that all season. Very risky. They played some of their worst defense of the year against the Braves. Thank god no more “tomahawk” chanting. Man that is annoying.
That's the whole idea! But I don't like the chop either, only because of its association with a school I dislike intensely, FSU. (There is still debate as to who came up with it first.)
OK.... down to 4 teams Mil vs LA Boston vs Houston Who makes it to the World Series? I say LA vs Boston. If so Boston in 5
The last four is really a crap shoot. Some guys will produce beyond expectations and other regular producers will quietly demonstrate underwhelming results. Quality starting pitching and a bullpen certainly helps your quest.
Agree it'll be Boston vs LA. I am a bit concerned about the Astros bullpen, but I think (hope) the Sox' explosive offense will get them down the road. I've got our tickets for this weekend and I'll be there cheering them on!
Being a DIE-HARD Yankee, Shoot me if it's the Redsux vs Dodgers! Astros vs Brewers would be nice. May the best team win!
Sanchez could have been more patient with his AB against Kimbriel. Kimbriel lately has been on or off. He was not exactly dominating following Sale. Sanchez early in the count swung at a bad pitch from Kimbriel.
The Yanks have SO MUCH faith in Sanchez, and I do too. BUT, I really dont see why. He has the worst glove in the league, a GREAT arm and had a HORRIBLE bat this season I know he can deliver at any given time, but "that time" did NOT happen this season.
This NL Championship series should be mega. I should hate the Brewers for knocking out the Cubs, but it's the Cubs fault that they could only score one run per game when it counted! I can sit back and enjoy this series for the pure sport of it. I just hope one of them goes on to win the World Series.
