I am considering making this modification to my 348. I really like the modification as I've always liked the F50 rear spolier. The plan is to do this as well as adding a plexiglass rear cover over the engine plenums I've not yet considered the engineering problems (such as opening the cover) but am sure solutions can be found. So, to the Brotherhood, do you like it or not? http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x156/Blade_uk/IMG_4254_2crop.jpg http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x156/Blade_uk/IMG_4254_2.jpg
If anyone has the ability to add the pics themselves to this thread please do so. It won't work for me
Chris, thanks for putting up the pic, and the opinion I thought it best to gather opinions before making such a dramatic alteration to the car
Sorry, JMHO not a fan either - unless you love this car so much you will never sell it. Plexiglass cover above the engine sounds more interesting though....
You're welcome. But, in my opinion the 348 does not need a dramatic alteration. It is sexy the way it is
Looks a bit F50-ish. I just wonder how the rear deck opens, if thats molded into the rear quarter panels. Probably not something that I would do, but I think it looks pretty cool, and if I saw it parked somewhere, I'd definately walk over and take a look! CMJ
If you like it, do it. Remember whose gratification you bought it for! Art, by definition, doesn't please everyone.
Jas, I`ve seen worse, I would like to see a side on view and from the back. Its a UK car so do you have anymore pics. You would have to use quick release pins in the four corners to hold the engine cover in place as it would foul the rear wing if fitted as original. I have also thought about the clear engine cover for my Spider. I thought you were thinking about buying TL`s F50 at Egham, not making a replica!! Regards, Phil. PS, I don`t like the wheels..!!
+1......the first vendor to bring see-through 348-355 engine covers to market will make a s#&t-load of $$$$$
