What's up with these motors? One is denoted a "Fury Twin" and the single has no name.... Discovered when cleaning out a 90-yr old flyers hangar.... (I only salvaged these.....the non-flying Bellanca was towed before I got there!) Anyone here a collector? Gone for the cost of postage........ Yup, focus is on .60 ignition engines..Dooling, McCoy, Hornet mostly got them in tether cars pre and post WW II. The little twin looks to be a boat application. Are you a collector?
I collect model engines as well. I'd say my favorites are the small .049 engines from Cox. My first real introduction to internal combustion engines was through a small control-line airplane powered by a Cox .049. That experience started my lifelong fascination with aviation and engines.
Hi, Ronz. Actually, I’m more of an accumulator than a collector. I have spark ignition, glow and compression ignition engines (wrongly referred to as Diesels). I sold off a number of my duplicates but since I still fly control line, I’ve kept quite a few engines from .010 up to .62 CID. I’ve also developed an interest in four-cycle power and I’m really enjoying running them. You are correct about the twin - it’s a K&B Allyn Sea Fury twin. I have a similar one, the Sky Fury twin. Lots of fun, isn’t it? Bob Z.
Bob, I also flew control line, mainly stunt and scale. Still have a Fox .35 from one of my stunt planes. Lots of fun! James, looking forward to the engines. I will get em running again if possible.
