I was all excited about my build replica.... but have to admit that I was quite underwhelmed with the size of it. Anybody else have the same thoughts?[IMG]

    They are 1/43 scale.
That's the industry standard for collectors.
1/24 & 1/18 are too large for many collectors. Just be happy they give us 43rd scale models :)

Maybe the protective box is to prevent small children from aspirating the model and obstructing their airway. :)

I too have lambo replicas along with my Ferraris. The lambo replicas are with the car at time of purchase. My Ferrari replicas show up a year later. The details on the lambo replicas are quite good.

Like OP said, Ferrari replica is much smaller. Little embarrassing for Ferrari as far as I'm concerned.

Didn't realize that's the model you get from lambo!

so what some folks are trying to express is that "size does matter"?

    Indeed ...

Yes you can buy bigger models, like the 1:8 models from Amalgam ... but start saving now :D

I ordered a customised 1:18 model from MR Collection, they are the ones making the 1:43 models I believe.
Apparently the price for a 1:18 model (between €500 and €600) is less than twice the price of the customised 1:43 model; at more than €7000 an Amalgam 1:8 model is really on a different scale...

My 458 Spider model hasn't turned up yet, but I suppose that I shouldn't be impatient. I've only had my car for 23 months.

I'd rather have the 1:1 model. Better save some more.

My 458 Spider model turned up today, 23 months after I took delivery of the real thing. As the manager at my dealer handed it to me, all nicely wrapped, I said to him "You know, it's going to be wrong in one way or another." Sure enough, rather than tan coloured interior, the damn thing had a black interior. You've got to laugh about this stuff. A model car is unimportant and is simply nice to have. But the people at Ferrari responsible for these things have got to be brain dead! :)
