    Hi all,

I had this idea on the weekend. Why isn't there a thread which reviews modelcars of all brands (from Hotwheels to BBR etc. etc.)??

I might've missed it (I'm sorry if I did), but if it's not there do you think this is a good idea to start it up??

    Something along the lines of:

    Brand: Hotwheels Elite *example*
    Model: Ferrari FF *example*
    Scale: 1:18 *example*
    Pro's: *fill in your opinion*
    Con's: *fill in your opinion*
Rating: rate this model from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest)
Conclusion: *fill in if you want to say something*
    Photos: Minimum of 4 photos *1 side/1 front/1 rear/1 inside*

Well let me know what your thoughts are and I'm more then happy to start it off.

    Lex

Because there are forums dedicated to this sort of things.

That thread seems to be more for kits rather than the models that I think Lex is referring too. I think its a great idea. If anyone is thinking of buying a certain model they could ask about it first and get an opinion and photos before they buy.

This is only kits to build.

Correct, I wanted to create a thread to review diecast/build modelcars like Hotwheels/CMC etc. etc.

Not really, because people who come here lack the knowledge you get from people coming to dedicated diecast forums who live and breathe diecast. Want good reviews - go to places where people know diecast. You don't go to buy a Ferrari at a mom and pop used car dealership.

That post is a bit insulting to someone like me that has over 600 models and have been collecting for over 30 years!!!!!!! And i am not the only one here that has extensive collections.

Me neither. I have roughly around the 600 models as well. But well some people just like to start-up a stink and spoil it for others :)

So what? You want to get insulted - get insulted - your call. I too have well over 2000 diecast models of various scales and have been collecting over 20 years. Also, google my name, maybe you'll recognize who I am. Yet I don't come here to get an expert opinion on diecast.

PS: Dennis, if I were you, I'd get these kits off those heater/radiators, decals, not to mention plastic can go bad from the heat.

I have to apologize for this message directed to ItalianHorses.

We had some PM correspondence and clarified a few things.

So hereby, my apologies for this comment mate.

    Alex you are right!

I don't know diecast, and there is not a single diecast in my collection..
Diecast is a bit to "common" for my taste (lol).
Handbuilts and handbuilt kits are the only models that match the exclusivity of Ferrari!
but I wouldn't mind having an Italian Horses built modell in my collection!

Seriously, collect what makes you happy!
If diecast is your thing, just enjoy them, no matter what others think/say.
Most people that know me, don't have a clue about my hobby, and thats just fine, cause I like them!

If there is a diecast evalution thread, thats fine!
Don't read it, if you don't want to.

I personaly think it´s a good idea, and no one is forced to view this thread...many of us collect die-cast for more than 20 years so, i think we know a thing or two about the buisness, and it would be fine to exchange opinions about models.

Ha ha, those pictures of my models on the rad where taken in the summer, only placed there for that picture for another model board. I purchased all those vintage kits from a guy who was getting out of modelcars, and there's some pretty rare-ish ones so I piled them up just for a picture. Once again the rad was not on! I did get the same comments from other model boards for that picture though!
I do actually build plastic kits though and here's some proof!

While searching "Google" for model car parts I stumbled upon a Forum for model car collectors.

    Hope this is helpful

I think it'd be a great idea. I am always looking around at models and have a few myself (11 to be exact)
For example, I was looking for advice on buying an F40 and multiple people responded quickly and were informative and I am now a proud owner of a koyosho F40 1:18 thanks to their help and guidance. A dedicated thread to something like this would be great
