Long story short, I bought this 360 Modena in China with no record of service, no nothing. When I bought it, oil looked good and it ran strong, and its cheap. It is
a Euro version car since it was imported directly from Italy.

so I thought timing belt must be done since I was really worried about that part.

Please keep in mind that the car runs fine and strong, yet the following were observed and I was totally confused. Begging for inputs or thoughts

    1. I read the service manual and after I opened the timing case, I saw one mark is on the tooth, and the other isn't, like this (1st picture, RED ARROW). Question is, is your timing mark like that, too? I personally felt it was left there by somebody who did the timing belt, which means there's no timing mark right out of the factory?

    2. Another problem is: the timing marks won't line up , they point to the same direction (picture 2),

    3. After looking and cleaning around, I found the marks may be pointing to the 4 small dots I found above the 4 cams(picture 3). However, when the left 2 cams were lined to the dots, the right 2 cams were both off by a tooth (in reference to the top dot, of course)

Anything you guys can guess of what happened to the car?

The cam markings on even these newer engines tend to occasionally be off, so it's possible one of the mechanics performing the service dialed in the cams correctly, but without records it's impossible to say. That being said, 360s and newer cars are more of a refined product like Porsche making service records important, but not obsessively important as with some other Ferrari's.

If it's cheap and it checks out well with a PPI, I say go for it and have a proper service performed with the cams being correctly timed to make absolutely sure.

    Best,

Those don't look like factory marks to me. They look like some marks added by an end user, who knows what they mean. I would disregard them. I WOULD turn some attention to all that oil sludge near the belts and do a THOROUGH assessment of what that car may need done to it to bring it up to good operating condition.
