After our race at The Ring we went to Modena to drive 002 which has been restored by Auto Sport Modena to it's 1947 159S Turin GP winning configuration. They did an incredible job and it was very emotional driving her through Modena past Mr Ferrari's house. The site of the original Factory is now a parking lot but his house remains as it was. Piero lives there and Pireo also built the Parking garage which is an ugly municipal structure and IMO a bit sad.

We also visited the new Enzo Ferrari Museum and the Yellow structure is very cool. The cars exhibited were interesting but one was a pure replica and another was described as the car Mr. Chinetti drove to Victory at Le Mans which it wasn't.

We then went to visit Pagani which was VERY impressive. The quality of the build is as good as I've ever seen on any car. They make virtually everything including the bolts in exotic alloy and each one is engraved with their logo. Their Badges are cut from billet and hand polished. They have 85 orders for their new design and their cars have a lot of heart.

They're building a new factory to produce these cars and I think they will prosper. Their engineering is amazing.

    Jim,

I believe you mean Sport Auto Modena. Auto Sport(Bacchelli e Villa) is in Bastiglia.

Very cool. Is 002 coming back to US soon?

Re: Pagani, that brand has gotten my attention as of late. Their auto design is a bit too edgy for me (much like the periscope Countach in its period), but I respect their jewel-like workmanship and stamina to build a new car brand among oligarchs i.e. VW-Audi, Fiat, etc. Also, their use of AMG engines doesn't hurt my increasing enthusiasm for them.

If/when they race their cars successfully, then their brand identity will be complete IMO.
Hmmm, I wonder what a collaboration of SCG and Pagani would be like...

I would have assumed that a manufacturer like Pagani would use the best materials for their cars including for the hardware/bolts, but I wouldn't have guessed that they actually manufacture them in house. Very cool!

Are you one of their 85 orders, or are you waiting for them to open the orders for their race cars?

I'm not one of the 85 nor am planning anything at this moment.

I do like their cars a lot and who knows what the future may bring.

I too was impressed with the Pagani factory.Kind of like a "clean room" assy.process. For me the designs are a bit OTT, but you cant deny the craftsmanship involved, and the technology.
