Nope... not ONE attempt at trying this has, or will, work.

  6. Opposite for me. I'd like to see a modern Miura (especially) or a Countach built. I have not been excited about any of the new Lamborghinis, well not enough to feel a want, for some time.

Perhaps with Ferrari, although when Enzo was alive he would never have allowed it, neither would Ferruccio when he was at the helm at Lamborghini.

When the 2005 Lamborghini Miura Concept was released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the original Miura concept at the Geneva Motor Show, there was little commercial interest. Furthermore, Lamborghini's then President & CEO Stefan Winkelmann stated "The Miura was a celebration of our history, but Lamborghini is about the future. Retro design is not what we are here for. So we won’t do the Miura"

Probably the best statement he ever made during his entire tenure.

That said, any artist or maker who copies past masterpieces or uses them as the basis for present production can be seen to have run out of original inspiration, not really what any artist or maker wants to be known for IMO.

If you can't take a blank piece of paper and come up with something fresh, original & inspired, it's time to find something else to do.

This topic underscores what a genius Marcello Gandini was, to create the masterpiece that is the Miura, then turn the page and go in a different direction and create the masterpiece that is the Countach. Both those designs are stunning today, and any cover song attempts will never sound as good as the original hit by the original artist.

    Agreed.

Totally, these recreations only serve to flatter the original in a way that renders the recreations redundant.
