I've read that some models may require new bumpers which cost around $20,000 from official Ferrari dealers. Are there any models newer than 15 years that do not need to be modified or at least can be modified at a lower cost?

Also, do provincial examiners generally require any modifications for cars older than 15 years?

    The long way home
AFAIK, the only vehicle that requires bumpers is the 456/M, and yes, they are around $20k.

The 360s, 430s, 550s, 575s, 612s, 599s and Enzos don't require bumpers, but may require other mods such as instrument cluster, DRLs etc and those can get pricey.

    What are you looking at?

Edit: The provincial inspection isn't the one that examines the mods that are required

Thanks, I had a message from another user stating that 360s don't need the bumpers. Can anyone confirm that 430s don't need bumpers either?

If anyone has successfully imported a newer F-car I'd appreciate to hear your experience. Transport Canada advises importers to contact Canadian Ferrari dealers to determine the exact modifications needed.

From what I've read, some provinces still require DRLs for older vehicles but it can be done anywhere for a few hundred dollars:http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137242115&postcount=621 They may also ask you to replace tires and brakes if they're old.

    good luck.

See the locked thread above: official import/export thread for details.

355's required bumpers which appear to be only available for valid accident repair, and not for import purposes - that 45 day delay in shipping from Italy you know.

Since 355s are not on the admissible list anymore people can just wait for a few years then they can be imported without mods.

I think you can bring the Car to Canadian Tire to get an Emission test and certification?

most RIV inspection stations are in Canadian Tires.

Yes, give James some business. We need more 430's up here! What about the 599's to; are there no issues with those cars either? FNA Canadian price structure has some questionable practices...
