Would anyone have any idea if modifications would be required to a U.S. spec 2000 or 2001 Ferrari 550 imported into Canada?
    Thanks for any replies.

As far as I know, except for metric gauges, the two countries' cars are identical. Sure looks like that in the parts books.

I'm no expert and I don't live in Canada, but here is some interesting info on this website:

It appears Mercedes might be more difficult than the typical car to import to Canada from the U.S.
No idea what is involved in importing a Ferrari.

Cars imported into either the States or Canada are certified for North America. The only REQUIRED mod that I know of is a swap-out of the gauge panel panel and replacement with metrics (about 7 yrs ago I believe the cost was $1800 USD). You'll also need to have a minor piece of work done so that the lights are always on but I think this will cost less than 200 USD.

It turned out that my 550 came out of Canada after only a few hundred miles was put on it and I had that paperwork needed for the transition into the States.

    Hey Alfalover,
Not sure if Im too late on this thread for you but check out www.riv.ca. This is the govt web site for importing vehicles into Canada. It is not the government that is making it difficult to import vehicles it is the manufactures. The biggest headache is getting the recall letter. If you can get the daytime running lights turned on, and a recall letter from a US source you will not have to go to Ferrari and get absolutely bent over for these items.
    Research, research, research...Hope this helps
