Uhm...Someone got a little carried away Beautiful work. I would love to hear it! To what extension did the engine changed its caracter with these new headers and ECU tune?
I have put the Forza valve controller on my 458 and 488 with great results. Their new model allows the valves to stay open on startup, which is a nice option especially on my 488. Very resonably priced and easy to install.. http://forzacomponenti.com/catalog_controllers.html
We just received the Forzas for our 599, my brother 430 and our friend 458 . Will have them installed shortly. They do look good.
I can confirm that on the 612 (OTO, non-HGT2), unplugging the vacuum line from the valve actuator mechanism at the tailpipe and plugging the hose with a bolt takes about 90 seconds per side and has zero effect on performance or emissions monitors. The sound at idle and mild throttle driving is immeasurably better. If the 599 is also a fail-open system, I would expect the same.
You can buy a couple of brake line clamps and clamp the hose shut at the back boxes, around £10. This is how I did mine and you can always take them off if you don't like it [ sure you will like it though]
We installed the Forza Componenti in our friend 458, my brother´s 430 and this morning in my 599. Installation was good in all with a little bit more work on the 599. Quality is top notch and installation procedure was clear. We can´t be happier. We highly recommend this product.
The most significant changes were related with sound at high revs. Increased rev helped to reach this goal.
WOW David, that 599 on the track sounded almost like the good old "ripping silk" sound of the glorious V-12 race cars of the 60's, eg, 250GTO, P3/4, 412. I suppose that's why we all own V12 Ferraris!
Sound clip after installation of Capristo exhaust remote controller. This model has option to set opening/closing based on the desired backpressure masured from the pipes. The sound is now valves closed about the same than it was valves open with stock exhaust manifolds and catalysts. . Measured 5dB difference 2ft behind the pipes. It's still not quiet but just and just acceptable.
Hi bumping up an old thread. It seems hard for me to access the vacuum lines. Do I have to remove the whole back bumper on my 599 to be able to unscrew the vacuum line hose clamps? I was under my car and whole back bumper and rear diffuser is all one piece. Thanks appreciate the help.
Hi I wanted to detach the vacuum hoses and plug them up, but cant do it unless I remove the whole back bumper. Space is tight. how do you wire them open? Thanks
This is a Tubi exhaust on a 599 flaps wired open. Sorry for the bad picture, best I could do. This is an easy job on the 599, if you're talking about a 612 I can't help you. Image Unavailable, Please Login
