Saturday's impromptu F-chat outting on some mountain passes close to Lake Geneva as well as a short incursion into France.

The views were stunning, as was the drive and of course the cars!!! My personal favourite was the view of the Lac de Joux after having passed the Mollendruz.

We have to do this again soon!

    Great drive indeed.

Sorry no more interesting pics, after all it was only a few hours drive on Saturday afternoon.

The engine+BB pic one of my favourites too. Unfortunately no photos of the view of the Lac de Joux from the pass. Next time!

I can confirm that it was great drive. Being the driver of the BB I must confess that it was sometimes hard to keep up with my 1982 BBi512 with the 360, the 550 and the Audi RS4. It was funny to see 20 years of evolution between the 550 and BB.

Your 'sideways' before Cossonay was quite memorable ;-) and you kept up very well!

    hey guys !

Next time you want to see a 360 Spider F1, count me in for a drive, esp. in Vaud. If work allows, a small trip is always welcome !

Thank you for the compliment Ddmet.
Didier I am sure that the rest of the crew will welcome an other 360. If you are from St Prex do you André from the Tamoil gas station?

You will have to ask Mr DDMet, he is the "Jean Todt" of our crew, but I thing the more car there is the more fun we will have... From my side I would love to have some people with older cars so I do not feel left alone with my almost oldtimer...

@BBi512: do join FFOS, nice drives/meals organised!
Thanks for the compliment of calling me the JT of the team ;-)

@SpaceBoy: can you PM your natel so next time we organise a 'last minute' drive out I will certainly call you.

@Trevi: Most welcome if you don't mind the drive to Romandie! Otherwise we can also organise something closer to you. BBi512 is in Zurich weekdays anyway.

I am in Zürich for the week for work but the BB is always in Geneva.
I can understand that next to your Mondial a nice BB would look fantastic. The BB is a great car that is very rewarding to drive. It also gives you some great sansations... and trust me I had plenty of those during this drive. The only weakness of the car is when you have to change the timing belt every 40 000Km.

we do not mind ;) (we organize our meetings in different parts of CH according to the locations of our members. as far as i remember, it's anyway didier's duty to organize the next meeting, and now, after his capabilities in reading maps have substantially risen, this should not be a problem anymore :D

The Bodensee birthday sounds good but it should be combined with some interesting mountain passes ;-)

The Romands would alos like to know if you have any suggestion in order to avoid our Police force who enjoy traking us....
The problem with those pass is that they well known so you have to wake up almost in the middle of the night to arrive their before the tourists and their diesel engine... We have noticed last week-end that it is better to drive before lunch than after. there are to many cars on the road, and we are not here to take any risk but to enjoy an nice drive between friends with the same passion...
Their are in the Jura behind Neuchâtel (Neuenburg) some wonderfull roads and they are almost at egal distance for all of us.

ok, my suggestion to the romands ;): drive passes on saturdays, not on sundays, it's less traffic then and the police traps are more likely on sundays (because of the bikers).
btw: my suggestion was focused on the bodensee-birthday-meeting only, i really would like to have a FFOS meeting in the suisse romandie, isn't it, didier! :D
ok, i have the least problems, cuz i'm living just in the middle :)

I might propose one of these week-ends a little drive on the theme "The hidden wonders of Gros-de-Vaud: a trip in the heart of Welschland"
The best pick on week-ends is the country side in my opinion. Desert and beautiful roads, pretty scenery, no radars. The only downside is that if you wander there too often, you catch a funny accent :)

Honestly, I had nothing planned but a trip into the "gros-de-vaud" should be nice. Long roads with only cows. But we are not playing the game "Carmageddon" where you win points if you kill cows, old ladies, etc..great game !!

    Who is available on saturdays

    - 26.06
    - 03.07 ?
    - 10.07 ?
    - 17.07 ?

We'll meet at 10-11 (so Trevi can join), drive around, get a light dinner and go for a long drive.

    Didier.

Yes, I "know" André from the Tamoil gas station. There are always nice cars parked outside : Murcielago's, 348, 355, diablo's, etc. I heard he has some kind of a car club..people often meet overthere. I pass every day by the gas station. I cannot see that golden diablo anymore..hehe

I could ask him about a meeting..who knows.

    Hi Didier,

Your impromptu trip in the Jura remember me the one I have done last November with two Testarossa. It was nice despite the snow and salt.

I'm interested by your proposal. So far, I should be available on the - 26.06 & 10.07. To be confirmed.

On a general basis, I'm always interested by a last-minute trip. I will therefore drop you a PM with my Mobile number.

    Bye for now,
    Christophe.
