we all know it doesnt work as well as it should. quite possibly, it has cost Ferrari its championship.

why not work out a 'fail safe' system? When neccecary, marshalls can push the neutral button which is somewhere near the cockpit to push the car out of the way when its stranded on the track for instance. why not put another one of those buttons where the fuel hose goes into? as soon as the fuel hose is removed the car is able to get out of neutral and actually benefit from the system.

If there is however a problem with tires or so, there will be an override system (by simply using the lights).

So when the light is green to early (again.....) the car wont get away if the fuel hose is in there:)

This would be a nice idea, but it is just another technology that removes the driver from the issue.

some truth in that, but pitstops is not always in the hand of the driver. sometimes the lollipop man pushes the button to early (like we saw last race) and its in no way the drivers fault:(. stuff like this could easily prevent it:)

Indeed. But then Ferrari should go back to a mirror lollipop instead of a light system.

A button, where a refueler or such can put the car into neutral, out of the driver's capability, might be too much of an assist. I like the thought, but it needs to have driver input.
