I been told to save the wear on the clutch that putting my 2005-612 in Neutral at a red light is a good thing to do in-between long Red Lights. I'm wondering sometimes when I engaged the car from: (N) Neutral into 1st Gear there is sometimes but not always a Momentary Hesitation?

    Best regards,

I talked to Damien at Fusion Motor Sports and he said try taking my foot off the Break for a moment, if this does not work, he can adjust the clutch point.

I don't know what taking your foot off the brake has to do with anything...
When at a standstill, having your foot on the brake is the only way to engage 1st gear from neutral (at least on the 599).

In any case, if it hasn't been done for a while, have them re-adjust the PIS (point of initial slippage). F1 gearboxes can "feel" noticeably better after that.

Carlo, Chett- It is the same on the 575M and the 612. If you take your foot off the brake, 1st will not engage. Ask Carlo and I how we know. Embarrassing the first time at a light until you figure it out.

Does putting it into neutral at stop lights do anything?

I sometimes (okay, fairly often) use neutral to coast to stop at a light, but if I'm in first I don't generally put it in neutral just sitting there. My understanding was that having your foot on the brake and the car in first was no worse than having it in neutral.

    Is that right?

Im sure your right, and I'll have it checked out by a pro however, what I posted is the other way around from you post. I am trying to go from (N) to 1st gear. 8 out of 10 times, fine. 2 out 10 times, I have to hit the paddle shifter a cupple of times for it to go into 1st gear. I am going to try the break concept... if this does not work then I'll have checked out and let you know what the deal is.

    Best regards,

    Yes. I understood that.

As I said, to go from (N)-->(1) you need your foot ON the brake pedal when at a standstill (or at VERY low speeds).

You can, however, go from from (1)-->(N) at any time and at any speed regardless of what you are doing with the brake pedal (or from from 6th gear to N for that matter).

Have you tried to make sure that you in deed put a firm pressure on the brake pedal before clicking on the up-shift paddle going from N to 1? A faulty microswitch on the brake would prevent you engaging 1st gear from N without putting a firm pressure on the barke pedal first. Hope this helps......

It is recommended by factory to put into N if going to wait at long red light.
