Well this is going to change all predictions. rain + no tc and Monaco = good race Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh well, if this is the case.... 1. Hamilton - Showed he can be brilliant in the wet at Fuji 07 2. Raikkonen - Ferrari has been a step behind for a while here 3. Kovalainen - His luck has to turn around sometime, and Mclaren is usually strong here 4. Heidfeld - I think he'll get Kubica here 5. Kubica - Strong performance here 6. Massa - Hey, it's raining! 7. Alonso - I think the chance of Alonso getting a podium, much less a win is ridiculous 8. Webber - Always quick, but the car isn't up to it
If it rains I call Alonso, Hamilton, or Kimi for the victory, sorry max Alonso is good, real good, just in a crap car so with the rain equalizer I have to give him the nudge.
How about Winkelhock... can he drive for someone in the rain? Maybe he will lead for a few laps, as he did at the 'Ring..
...Absolutely...Monaco is just a Parade...now we will have a good race but the results with the rain are absolutely random...you could see a Red Bull Winning... ...there´s a good chance the race will also have only 9 cars classified in the last lap...no TC and wet IN MONACO will do the trick
It they didn't red flag that race, I'm convinced that Winky would have won. If there is rain, I need to drop Massa back about 5 spots.
Last rain race, Massa did very well, passed Heikki in a ballsy move, but at Monaco, I'm not so sure. But this is not a Ferrari circuit. Kimi ran into a wall last year in the dry, so I will slightly change my dry prediction: 1) Alonso 2) Kubica 3) Kovalainen 4) Webber 5) Coultard 6) Massa 7) Raikkonen 8) Hamilton Ferrari still keeps ist WCC lead. Kimi keeps his WDC lead but down to 5 points, Massa will catch up.
How about the area where everyone ran off the track... everyone stalled, so they were kicked out... but Hamilton apparently kept his car running, so they hauled him back to the track... then let him finish (and win!) the race... I thought that you're not allowed to finish the race, if you have to be helped just to move back onto the track?
You're not quite remembering that one correctly. He didn't win, he finished 9th. I can see the confusion... First is the highest of the point scorers. 9th is the highest of the non points scorers. Basically the same thing
This is for you... "We have progressed, but we are still behind Ferrari, McLaren and BMW," the Spaniard said. "Even though Monaco is a circuit where the driver can really make the difference, a good car will always be an advantage and makes things easier. "But we will try and spring a surprise and make the most of our opportunities. At the moment we are fighting for seventh place, but, as we saw in Istanbul, it is possible to do better if one of the favorites has a problem. We therefore need to be ready for any chance that comes our way." Quoted from Fernando Alonso on May 19th. Doesn't sound like Alonso is going to have a shot at hell for the win. Also, don't count out Hamilton in the wet, Fuji 07 anyone? How did Alonso do in that race? Oh yeah...
¿9 cars? That would be great. I wouldn´t be surprised if only 5 or 6 finish, like in 1996. I agree in that this is going to be a random race, it´s futile to make predictions. Do you remember Olivier Panis?
I remember the '96 race...a classic. Who finished second in that race? DC. So maybe a Red Bull could win after all...
1. Webber - He's good at Monaco, he's good in the rain and he's a qualifying magician. He'll put himself on the front row if it rains on Saturday and believe he'll win the race. 2. Alonso - Mr. Monaco, he's been waiting all year for his opportunity to pounce, but when he see's his old friend Webber up there with him, his small heart will increase five times and hand Webber the win. 3. Hamilton - Alonso and Webber are racing for wins, while Hamilton has the championship in his mind. He wont be able to take the risks those two will. 4. Vettel - His chance to prove he really is all that is wet races. Vettel was awesome in Japan and China, although he made a little mistake, before that he was all class. 5. Kovalainen - He pretty much has to finish behind Hamilton for the rest of the year. 6. Raikkonen - Ferrari are slow at Monaco. 7. Rosberg - It's his home town race! 8. Buton - His too.
In the presumed rain with no TC it will be a tight contest between the safety car and the tow trucks.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/67586 Kimi Raikkonen expects Ferrari to be very competitive at the Monaco Grand Prix, as he reckons the Italian squad have taken a step forward at slow tracks. Last year, the Maranello squad were unable to match the pace of rivals McLaren at Monte Carlo, where Ferrari have not won since the 2001 season with Michael Schumacher. But following last week's test at Paul Ricard, Raikkonen believes his team have made progress on tracks like Monte Carlo and he is expecting Ferrari to be very strong this time out. "It (the test) went very well," said Raikkonen, who arrived in Monaco in the lead of the championship, seven points ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa. "We tried a few new components and improved the set-up. The car is stronger at this type of circuit - slow and bendy - compared to last year. I think that Ferrari has made a big step forward in the areas where we weren't strong last year. "It's difficult to say how it will go in the end. Ferrari will be very competitive, but there's also McLaren and BMW. Having said that Monaco, can always be good for a surprise; it's the most open of all the races this year. "Last year we only got one point here in Monaco. I wasn't happy that day. But in the end it was a very precious point for me," added the Finn, who won the title by one point last year. The Ferrari driver insisted it will be crucial to avoid trouble during Friday's practice in order to have a competitive weekend. "In Turkey we missed the most important practice session," he said. "This time we hope that we can work without any problems. Especially with everybody being so close, and especially in qualifying is very important to set a fast lap. "Overtaking is almost impossible, so the car has to be set up really well. It feels great to do a fast lap here in Monaco, but to do that you need to be in the front. It's important to qualify well. "In Monaco this is a priority. I always try to get pole, because this is the best option for the fight to win the race."

qualifying is everything in this race (as every F1 Race). At what time it rains will be just as important, they may have to qualify in the rain with out and practice in it. so its going to come down to the team that can best make the adjustment to the car for the change in conditions. BMW has made so many good adjustments this season already, and I think their hard work will pay off and kubica will win this race. Kubica Hamilton Alonso Massa Heidfield Raikkonen Kovalainen Webber
I will throw in a Wild Card: Button Button has always done well in the wet. Honda can not find any straightline speed this year, maybe their "rabbit ears" will crank in enough down force to get them around a corner.
