I'm looking into this for a friend who wants to surprise his wife with a trip to the GP next season. What I would like to ask is what were the ticket prices this past race and will the 2010 prices be close? Any info/insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    tex

You can buy tickets directly from the ACM (Automobile Club de Monaco) on-line once they become available, usually early December- go to www.acm.mc
Prices vary widely by location- there's a BIG difference between sitting perched up on the Rocher (general admission) and having a reserved grandstand seat in the K stands down by the harbor with a view of the giant screen. Last year the latter ran about $900/seat for a three-day ticket. Hope that helps.

You might suggest the Historics to your friend - they are held every two years and the racing is fantastic - we sat in grandstand K (anywhere we wanted to sit) for a whopping 40 GPB for the weekend, same one, same big screen tv as referenced for 900 USD for the weekend (where you would have a numbered seat). We went last time and already have hotel, airline tickets, etc. for the one in May. Duncan Dayton (Highcroft Acura - ALMS) did quite well in winning a couple of the classes. Awesome machinery from grands prix of years ago. Your friend best get on the stick for hotel rooms at this point in time for either event!!

Held every two years, the 7th Monaco Historic Grand Prix, will be on the same circuit as the Formula One takes place in 2010. May 8 & 9 are the dates.
The race will be only 10 laps instead of the 78 for the F1 Grand Prix.

For 2010 the Formula Junior cars (1958 - 1963) will be replaced by Formula 3, 1000cc, 1600cc and 2000cc, built and raced prior to 31/12/1984.

They will be distributed into 8 races:
    • Race A - Pre 1947 Voiturettes and Grand Prix cars
    • Race B - Front engined Grand Prix cars (1947 - 1960)
    • Race C - Pre 1953 Sports cars
    • Race D - Formula 3, 1000 cc (1964 - 1970)
    • Race E - Rear engined Grand Prix cars (1954 - 1965)
    • Race F - Formula 1 (1966 - 1974)
    • Race G - Formula 1 (1975 - 1978)
    • Race H - Formula 3, 1600 cc and 2000 cc (1971 - 1984)
