    Not only is this good news, it starts to bring up what power Liberty has with the events themselves. Perhaps other things will be challenged by the organizers.

    Automobile Club of Monaco president Michel Boeri has said that grid girls will be present at the Monaco Grand Prix in May.

    Liberty replaced grid girls with a new grid kids initiative ahead of the 2018 season, but Monaco will not adhere to the new rule and have been able to come to an agreement with the Formula 1 bosses.

    While grid girls will be there, they will not be holding boards with the driver numbers on them.

    "The relationship is good with Liberty Media, because they understand that Monaco is not Spa or Monza," ACM president Michel Boeri told Monaco-Matin.

    "We've had no problems with Liberty Media, except for the grid girl issue. They'll be there, on the grid, but won't be holding any name-boards.

    "They're pretty and the cameras will be on them once again."

    To be honest I don't like anything Liberty Media has done so far. The ESPN coverage blows and the grid girl ban is stupid PC garbage

    SO its an interesting "compromise"

    The girls can be on the grid but they can't hold the sign. This must really have upset someone in Monaco to go through this effort just for a dozen girls.

    Monaco is ONLY about glitz and glamour......it isn't a racing circuit any more' especially now with ultra wide cars.......just a procession, unless your only interest is in seeing the cars getting written off. Drivers don't like it,...apart from the parties, Liberty are stuck with it, but Monaco is cash rich......so it talks.

    Enthusiasts are best directed to the previous 2 weeks there.......the Classic Monaco.......real cars, real racing and dicing...the best !

    IMO they should let every country decide what they want. It's their nation's showcase of a racing event.

    So glad to hear this. Next if they can have some good racing and coverage they might get me to watch more than a couple races this year.

    Liberty should just let the organizers in each country to decide. If then it's not their call anymore. If women's groups are outraged then let them protest in each country to stop it.

    The culture in a Muslim country is different than the culture in Canada. The culture in Russia is different than Japan. The culture in Mexico is different than China.

    What's wrong with letting each decide this issue separately?

    If the U.K. wants to remove Grid Girls but Russia doesn't, what's wrong with this?

    I like it that most news reports use the word "Defy" in the headline.

    The more PC The Week UK puts it this way in headline and story:

    Grid girls set for an F1 return at the Monaco Grand Prix
    It’s reported today by F1i.com that grid girls will be making a one-off return to F1 at this year’s Monaco Grand Prix in May.

    According to the report the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) has reached an agreement with Liberty Media for the grid girls to be at the “glitzy and glamorous” race.    ​

    That is good news! Hopefully, other venues follow. Grid kids are cute, but IMHO with all the creeps and weirdos out there, I rather have them ogling adult women, than children.

    Grid kids? Meh..... who wants to see kids on the grid..... pure PC ********. I’d rather liberty stopped trying to be everyone’s conscience and let us all get on (or off) on whatever we chose (as adults) to enjoy. Censoring who or what we watch is such a ridiculous approach, **** off liberty.

    On the whole, whenever you see a feminist person that wants to stop grid girls, they are ugly munters who wouldn’t get a date if they were the only female human on earth, so it’s jealousy, nothing else, that fires their ********. Try putting makeup on and some nice clothes, excuse-for-ladies, maybe, just maybe, someone will show romantic interest in you, and I’ll bet overnight your view of men and women changes

    LOL I think it happened in Germany, in any case Merkel was with him. Had it happened away from media in Siberia he would have ordered her put in a goulag there and the key been thrown away:-(
