McLaren will start favourites based on last year, However I don't think they dominate as the MP4-23 has a longer wheelbase than last year's car, McLaren maybe slower actually slower than Ferrari on tight corner's.

    1. Lewis Hamilton
    2 Heikki Kovalainen
    3. Kimi Raikkonen
    4. Fernando Alonso
    5. Robert Kubica
    6. Felipe Massa
    7. Nick Heidfeld
    8 Mark Webber
    9. Nico Rosberg
    10. Jenson Button

Any bets on who will stick it in the wall..

Alonso's already said they're planning a "Monaco surprise" which could mean that they're actually not planning to do anything different. "Surprise!" Kind of like the practical joke on M.A.S.H. Anyway I'm figuring they’re going to run light and try to get in front, stay there, and back things up. All of which could lead to contact behind him as the pack backs up behind a car that's normally fighting for seventh place on the grid. He's won the race for the last two years and certainly knows how to drive a wide car. When he makes his pit stops two will throw down fast laps to get by. The others will be stuck. How's that for a prediction? :)

    1. Lewis Hamilton
    2. Kimi Raikkonen
    3. Fernando Alonso
    4. Heikki Kovalainen
    5. Robert Kubica
    6. Nick Heidfeld
    7. Felipe Massa
    8 Jarno Trulli
    9. Mark Webber
    10. Nico Rosberg

The list above is without any contact being made by any of them.

    1. Kimi Raikkonen - assuming he doesn't decide to park it & go have a drink on a yacht. Pressure to perform, esp. in qual.
    2. Lewis Hamilton - still in sophmore slump, but should rise to the occasion in Monaco
    3. Felipe Massa - coming off of good performances. Should carry some mental momentum into this race.
    4. Fernando Alonso - Very opportunistic passer at the first corner. If he gets through, will be tough to pass.
    5. Robert Kubica - Always seems to be there or there about this year.
    6. Heikki Kovalainen - Coming off of two bad races, a crash and finish well down the order after puncture. Needs this race.
    7. Nick Heidfeld - Also always seems to be there or there about this year, but consistantly behind Kubica.
    8. Nico Rosberg - Can't count out Williams, but they still remain behind, Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, and Alonso.

DC's car will mysteriously fall apart shortly after the start, and rather than walk back to the pits he'll just go grab a drink at the bar in his hotel.

Kimi will miss the start after an unfortunate "incident" on a yacht. Something like this...

    1) Alonso (don't need power and aero in Monaco)
    2) Raikkonen or Massa
    3) Massa or Raikkonen
    4) Hamilton
    5) Kovalainen
    6) Kubica
    7) Heidfeld
    8) Webber

As I think about this, of all the races, this one's a real crapshoot, anyone of 8 drivers could actually win this race. I think there will be some big surprises Sunday, and I am afraid I am being too optimistic about Ferrari's chances. Kimi is not good here, hit the wall last year in qualifying. If Massa has his emotions in check he will beat his teammate, but I really am uncertain if they can even podium. I think the Renault, the BMW's, and the Red Bulls will do well.

I think this is Alonso's best chance at winning this season, for sure podium.

I think Massa and Kimi will both have a solid race but my gut feeling is that it's gonna be Massa for pole therefore the win.

Is there rain predicted for the race? If so I see Winkelhock going for the win.

I see this really being between Raikkonen and Hamilton. Alonso will probably do a low fuel qualifying so he can get ahead of the crowd. I actually have no idea what it's going to look like from 3rd on down... but i'm pretty sure it'll be raikkonen/hamilton 1/2.

    1. LH (Mclaren strong in Monaco)
    2. Massa (He's riding some good momentum)
    3. KR (Always a good bet to place well but no doubt Ferrari will load him up with fuel and it might slow his qualifying just a bit)
    5. Heidfeld (Quick Nick's gotta finish ahead of Kubica one of these days)
    6. FA (Some type of "surprise" is in the works, it will probably be a super-light car)
    7. Kubica (BMW kicks ass)
    8. Trulli (Toyota will run him light)

DNF: Hekki (I'm waiting for a Mclaren blunder or technical failure)

Well with no traction control or assisted engine braking to help the drivers on this bumpy and desperately slippery course, it's not going to be pretty.

Still think LH will win it, unless he has a brain fade.

I think Ron has hit this one on the nose with his comments regarding Alonso, if he goes light and qualifies well he has a very good shot at podium and even a victory if the cards fall his way. As for FM and KR I don't feel 100% confident that we're going to be on the podium based on their past results in Monaco. Lewis is anyone's guess especially with all that bling on his helmet.

    Kimi in second
    Kubica in third
    Massa in forth
    Hammi in fifth
    Kovaleinen in sixth
    Heidfeld in 7th..

Hami will burn up his tires doing the breaking thing and won't be able to do first, he's just to hard on the car...
