Ok, let's face it: Even if Alonso wins the title today, and that's a very big if, come tomorrow the season is over and we're back to what Steve Mc Queen once called "the rest is just waiting". So how are you guys and gals gonna spend the next few months bridging the gap to at least winter testing in February (?)?
I will do what the scuderia needs to do-put my head down and work hard, occassionally jumping on here to see what is going on, and wait for the building excitement of the debut of the hopefully beautiful 2013 machines in lieu of these mutations. I hope Ferrari can get its **** together with the wind tunnel and hope that Felipe isn't in a coma the first 2/3rds of the season. I may have some employment opportunities after the first of the year that I may explore so at least I won't be bored.....
I'm heading to Mozambique for about a month to my mates beach house . Packing body boards, surf boards, kayaks, 2x KTM bikes (200 2 stroke and a 400 4 stroke) , seadoo 265 RXP jetski, water ski's, wakeboard and scuba gear. I guess I win!
I'm going to do the same thing I do every year.....sit in the corner with cold sweats shaking uncontrollably. Mark
RE our bet, I won't have interweb access when I'm there so no posting here. Want me to put the picture up after I come back or before? I'll only be here for another 12 days and I think(?) it's 2 days to activate my account again. Your call. Picture (of your pickings) will be up for a month regardless.
Once you're back is good enough. It'll serve as a build up to the new season. Hopefully it'll bring good luck to the driver.
It's good to take a break from your interest for a period of time because it allows you to recharge and reflect and come back with more energy. I'll devote my TV time to (American) football and try to keep up with the development activities at Ferrari. They do have a lot of work to do and I suspect McLaren will come back strong. And does anyone think Adrien Newey will just sit on his success? I don't. He will likely design another great car. Ferrari couldn't buy his services so they will just have to work harder and smarter in order to come up with a competitive car. I suspect (hope) there will be a lot of activity at SF between Monday and February. Otherwise 2013 will be like 2012, falling short. -F
The ROC is in a couple weeks, then Supercross starts, then the Dakar the first two weeks of Januarry, and then Daytona and the WRC starts back up... the racing never stops.
This + working out/holiday travel/snowboard/read the off season developments and plan next years races to attend
