A growing 'get together' in Arlington, TX has reached 300+ cars within the last two weeks. I'd like to open the invitation to your forum members and other high-end car owners. We have a wide variety of cars ranging from a Lamborghini Gallardo (2005) to Imported Nissan Skylines, Toyota Supras, Acura NSXs, and Corvette Z06's. This gathering takes place at:

    America's Best Coffee (www.americasbestcoffee.us)
Every Monday 8-10:15pm (Last call at 10:20)
-- 1st and 3rd Mondays starting in April

    3751 Matlock Rd.
    Arlington TX 76015
    Directions From 20: http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/fastabc/OurStoresPage.htm
    Map: http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/fastabc/mapofabccoffee.jpg

Starting next week we will have a paid police officer and security to help with keeping the meet under control. Do not be scared by their presence, they are there to ensure everyone's safety - not to shut down the gathering. The meet is from 8pm-10:15pm (last call @ 10:20pm) - everyone will be asked to leave after the coffee shop closes.

This is a gathering of good car clubs and car enthusiast organizations in the area. Let's keep this meet going by supporting the open businesses, respecting guidelines at the meet, and providing donations. These donations can be dropped in the 'donations box' located in the coffee shop to help pay the police officer, security, and other expenses.

The skylines are from GS-motorsports and come with the dallasdrift club. A new car club - dfwcarclub.com is starting an alliance between area clubs and businesses to promote legal car gatherings / shows / track events in the DFW metroplex. A few of the local clubs, organizations, businesses that are in the works of coming together include: www.dfwmodified.com www.gs-motorsports.com www.nasioc.com www.dallasdrift.com www.doublestick.com www.alamoautosports.com www.advertisingmediaworks.com

    Thanks!

    Dan

Fine print: dfwcarclub is helping with providing the police officer and security. Anyone that comes to the 'get together' is asked to follow presented guidelines that will be posted and/or handed out - those who do not cooperate are subject to authorities (Arlington Police Dept.). America's Best Coffee is NOT a sponsor of the meet although they are kind enough to provide a group discount. Neither DFW Car Club or America's Best Coffee are liable for your actions.

The weather forecast looks great for tomorrow night. Hope to see ya'll there! Thanks for the support, we have a donation box inside the coffee shop to allow this get together to continue. Should be a great turnout with a variety of guests including local businesses and new car clubs.

We do have an organized staff and a Paid Police Officer assisting us with this get together and we do have parking spots in the front reserved for the high-dollar / sponsor / rare cars. In addition, we will have 3 people from our media relations group for photography and videos.

    * Please help me contact local car club leaders / presidents - send me some contact information or have them email me. Our website is now www.dfwcarclubs.com - which is currently under development.

    Thanks!

    Hi Dan,

Good to see you’re posting on FChat. I won't be able to attend the Monday night meets for awhile due to my work schedule. The event has had great turnouts in the past with the presence of a various exotics including Lamborghini Gallardo. Great to hear that you will have some security personal at the events, it’s gotten huge since the events started so there are the few the have to exhibit their burnout skills in public & the teenage tough guy Ricer drama. I know it was discussed extensively before on www.dallasimports.net. I try to attend if I can when time allows me to.

    Regards,

    Will

NO Enzo, Viper, or Murcielago. Crowded as f*ck with Hondas, Nissans, & Toyotas, YES.

I got off work early at 8 pm so I decided to go out there. To tell you the truth I liked the older events better when they much smaller, too much of a ricer fest / dumb ass convention with blinged out SUVs. Little white kids acting ghetto, people driving like jackasses in the parking lot, etc… Don’t get me wrong folks, there were some nice cars present but nothing to write home about, I'm sure it was a thrill fest for teenagers. I was there for about 20 minutes & had about enough. For me, it was disappointing event on an epic scale. Events at the coffee house will never be the same again. Maybe I’m just getting too old for this BS.

I went down last night for about an hour. Quite a spectacle, but it was pretty much a tuner car haven for kids. I did see a couple of Skylines, which was cool, I like those cars. A couple of others, but not my scene. I saw one hot rod custom, one old Mustang, one old Trans Am, an old Caddy, that was it on the classic car scene. And I'm telling you, with all those idiots revving their engines, someone is going to have their foot accidentally slip off the clutch and hit someone. Saw morons bumping rev limiters too. Some nice people I talked to, but some fools too.

Yes, and yes. John H. and I from the Pantera club went down there together. He wants to go back there with the Panteras, so I might give in and go back. Rather wait until the clocks change and there is more sunlight in the evenings, though.

Some girls from Baby Dolls of Arlington & Hooters were there, everything else was "old enough to bleed, old enough to breed" kind of crowd. Approach with extreme caution.

I really enjoy perusing the Crystal Cove pics in the SoCal forum.

How do they keep the quality of cars so great, week after week? I know we only see the cars that Jordan and the rest of them take pictures of, but, look in the background, you don't see any slammed Civics.

Maybe it's cause all the tuner guys are still in bed after a night of inhaling burnt rubber. I think you've got to be there really early if you want to show your car.

But is there a bouncer at the entrance booting unworthy whips? I need to ask in that forum I guess.

Besides the weather factor, which is probably the key issue, why isn't there a "Crystal Cove type" gathering in the DFW area? I guess the car culture, though big here, isn't nearly as big as in SoCal.
