US Mondial 3.2 Coupe I have been trying to sort out a few known issues the last few weeks with my new (to me) Mondial. In doing so, a new issue popped up. While starting the car a week ago, I had my foot on the brake pedal. The Stop Light Failure indicator came on in the panel between the seats. After driving for a bit, it turned off. Started it up today, foot not on the brake pedal. No indicator light on in the panel. But out of curiosity, I got out and checked the tail lights. They were fully on, including the 3rd (center) light. Pumped the brakes a few times and checked again - lights still on. It's been well below freezing here in NY for the last several weeks. Car has been plugged into a trickle charger while parked in the garage. I did let things warm up to get the temps up before taking it out for a very brief drive. Seemed to be driving ok. Lights continued to stay on until the car was shut down. Anyone experience this before? While I myself am not very handy as a mechanic, is this an easy thing to diagnose? Thanks.
Did you ever get a response/fix for this? I just replaced my brake switch in an 87 3.2 Cab (had "stop light" console light on - brakes worked fine) and when testing the plunger before screwing it in I note brake lights come on at start and only depressing the plunger shuts them off - opposite of what should happen. Thanks -
Update - Spoke w/ GT Parts - good guys - new Brake Switch works as designed - plunger is depressed (NOT released beneath "tab") when brake is released to close the circuit - I'm gonna remove seat and explore this tab function closer - live n learn.
