Mondial 3.2 clutch problem ?

Have a question for you, when driving along at 40mph in top and you hit the gas, the engine speed on my car picks up but not the car speed, after a slight lag in time the car speed picks up, it seems like clutch slip.

It will also do it at 30mph in 4th when you hit the gas.

When you nail it though in 1st from a standing start and shift up through all gears there is no sign of any slip.

Also if you are going along a 80 in top, shift it down to 4th and then give it some gas it does not happen.

If it was clutch slip I would expect it to happen in the last two cases but it does not, so is the delay in engine pickup I have described above in built feature or is it clutch slip.
