Ferrari Mondial 3.2 coupe, 1987, original UK registered car from new.
I am reluctantly selling this beautiful example of my Mondial 3.2 in a very rare colour, Blue Sera with full Crema leather of which only 4 were made in right hand drive.

It has only 36,500 fully documented miles with 2 huge folders full of receipts, service records and paperwork, I have a written valuation from Ferrari H. R. Owen for £30,000 where I have been taking it for any service work required, most recent in July 2013 with invoice of work done. Some classic car insurer's request a valuation for agreed values policies. I have the old MOTs, tax discs, original order sheet, original sales bill, etc, etc. Cam belts last done at 34,581 miles. On this model the cam belts are changed with the engine in the car and fairly cheap to do.

I have the original factory Mondial wheels and tires in excellent condition if you prefer those. I bought and fitted 17 inch Ferrari 348 wheels and brand new Continental Contact Sport 3 tires all round, all negotiable.

It also has the rare electric sliding sunroof option, electric windows, electric mirrors, air conditioning, rare remote control central locking fitted as part of the Thatcham 1 immobiliser and alarm which was not standard, electric aerial, new Blaupunkt stereo with full iPod control and CD player, I also have the original Ferrari factory fitted Blaupunkt cassette player from 1987 with original order card from Italy. I have all booklets including the service book, owners handbook, both keys with 2 remotes, toolkit with all accessories, Ferrari over matts, MOT October 2014, Tax October 2014, and everything works. The spare tire is the original Michelin from 1987 and has never been used, it still has the sticker on it! Excellent brake discs and pads all round. It also has the original First Aid kit from 1987 sealed and unused. Full HPI clear checked.

I spent over £6500 since i bought it to get it spot on and it starts every time and pulls like a train, sounds great and really does get the thumbs up attention being such a rare classic sight on the roads.

Condition is amazing, no dents or scratches, never driven in wet weather and always garaged and looked after. It took me a year to find such a fine example.

Serious buyers only. Maybe part exchange for a 328, 348, 355 or 360 if you have a nice one.

It still has the original number plates from Ferrari H. R. Owen in 1987 which somewhat proves of no back or front accidents. All enquiries welcome, you will not be disappointed.

    £26,000 or near offer.

    Thanks.

    Peter. (London, UK)

    Thanks Wade,

I see you have also have a 348. It looks so beautiful in black, congratulations! Did you sell your Mondial? I am also looking for one not sure what to do. I also like 328, 355 and 360 but they are all out of my league unless I get very lucky.

I test drove a 1991 348 tb today but wasn't a great example. Poor build quality and very tatty all over. I am hoping to get a later 1993 gts or gtb but only 14 right hand drive were made for the UK.

I'm glad you wrote as I am interested how do you compare it to the Mondial? Do they have serious problems like the 355?

    Thanks very much.

    Peter

Thanks, yes, I like the 348 a lot... always did.

I wanted a 348 GTB, GTS or SS but didn't want to wait or do what it takes to get a good one in black (took me 5 years to find a nice black Mondial 3.2 Coupe). Personally, a show-worthy driver was more important than trying to preserve a rarity (obligation?). Fortunately, the one I bought came up for sale fairly local and I'd seen the car previously at the Celebration (FL) Exotic Car Show (won first in class) and met the owner as well.

The 348 and the Mondial are really worlds apart so it is difficult to compare them; true sports car and gran turismo respectively. Obviously, the 348 is my favorite but I prefer the Mondial's exhaust note with its throaty rumble.

The Mondial is for sale but I'm finding that it's not so easy to part with. Hence, no listings anywhere. :)

As far as serious issues/concerns? None really on well sorted examples although there are a few horror stories about the transmission. Previously, I wrenched F-15s, A-10s and F-4s so no worries here... will enjoy dealing with it if anything happens.

Have fun with your search and good luck too.

    Wade

Thanks Wade and good luck in selling yours too.

I have been reading the buyers guides but not come across anything about the transmissions. I will dig further and see.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks Darren,
It will be 2 years in May. It will be very sad to see her go as I have spent so much time and money to get her spot on and doesnt need anything now. Such a pleasure to drive.

    Cheers.

Dear Peter, Interesting listing indeed. Would you be so kind to inform Others of the typical UK certificates, and forms that validate ownership, including Agencies in which People can call, or write to, in UK. Can you post,as attachments, sample of your DVLA form that contains T5, & MOT.(I assume its up to date.) And perhaps which Agencies prospective Customer(s) would go to. Thanks. By assisting Others through knowledge w/ safety, & procedures lead to more enthusiasm toward your product. May God be with you. Sincerely,Wilson.
