Can anybody explain why a Mondial 3.2 uses Bosch 0437502010 injectors whereas most other Ferrari CIS models appear to use 0437502047 injectors. Is there any reason why the 047 injectors can not be used in the Mondial 3.2?

Because some late (non-US) 3.2 are KE3-Jet and have slightly different (higher) operating pressures than K-Jet or KE-Jet. Consequently, the opening/closing pressure spec of the 0437502010 injector is 3.7 to 4.8 bar; whereas, the opening/closing pressure spec of the 0437502047 injector opening/closing pressure is 3.0 to 4.1 bar. I believe the main reasons you should not use 0437502047 on a KE3-Jet system is that KE3-Jet will have a higher Accumulator (residual) pressure of something like 3.7 bar so you risk liquid fuel coming out of the injectors after shutoff, and the injectors are tested/designed for their spray pattern at their different system pressures (KE3-Jet operates at 6.1-6.5 bar while K-Jet/KE-Jet are more like 5.0-5.5 bar). Many MB models also use the KE3-Jet system so they shouldn't be unobtanium -- are you having difficulty getting 0437502010?

I should've check my notes first before typing ;). 0437502010 (steel) and 0437502047 (brass) are equivalent injectors for K-Jet and KE-Jet so either is OK on those systems.

Some late (non-US) 3.2 are KE3-Jet, but they use yet a different Bosch CIS injector as described.

What Bosch CIS injection system do you have?

Thanks for your response Steve. My Mondial is a 1986 3.2 Euro model with K-Jet and has the original 0437502010 (steel) injectors.
The 010 injectors are advertised either as 'used' or at very high prices. The 047 injectors are freely available at a reasonable price.
So based on your comments I'll now use the brass 047 injectors.

Yes, there is a cult that believes that the 010 steel body ones are somehow fundamentally "better" than the 047 brass body, but I don't share that opinion. I do think that the early production of the steel injectors in Germany (when CIS was the flagship injection system) probably did have a higher overall population quality than the brass ones now made in Mexico/Brazil?, but, IMO, a properly working brass 047 is no different than a properly working steel 010. Of course, there is a sub-cult of them that thinks "flow-matching" CIS injectors is important. ;)
